Love this film as well, first time I watched it scared the life out of I was in my very early teenage years. I struggle to watch remakes of any films and watching the remake would ruin a great film for me.

I kept kicking myself for being silly enough to read a "review" which turned out to contain the major plot spoiler... I can only envy you having that full experience, haha. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I liked the music a lot too, and Lee has a great voice. I've seen enough, just enough of the new movie to know I don't wish to view further.
P.S. Since Cage's version of the character isn't at all religious, I believe, that kind of takes most of the point out to begin with...

My man + I watched "Yes Man" and were planning to make it a double feature night but bantered about what to watch next for so long that we both got to the point of yawning and said fuck it and turned off the TV.

"House Of Wax" is excellent! Some scenes are truly creepy and Vincent is chilling in his role. I think they must have taken the idea for "Waxworks" ["The House That Dripped Blood"] from this film.

Silence Of The Lambs. Amazing, of course. The filmmaking is truly unique, which I wasn't expecting, and it made me think of the X-Files in several instances. You can tell how much this film has inspired current filmmakers.
Dark Water (the original Japanese version). Subtle, and emotional. My friends just kept crapping themselves over how scary it was, and I think maybe I'm just desensitized since Japanese horror is much more understated. Regardless, very chilling and beautiful mise en scene.

Up stands as a remarkable film, even alongside the already amazing Pixar lineup. It's a movie you just don't see everyday.

Curse Of Frankenstein
Very charming gothic atmosphere, marvelous sets, decent plot with some great lines ("I can stop you using his brain!" "Why? He has no further use for it...") and very good acting: Cushing was wonderfully evil, psychotic and fragile at once, while Lee was both chilling and sympathetic as the monster - managing to do a lot with no dialogue.

2012- Very cliche, yet I'm a true blue defender of disaster movies, so I still liked it. I almost cried over a doggy...god that dog was cute.

On Saturday we watched Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen as a family, then after the babybat went to bed DH + I drank beer and saw Watchmen.
