Listen to Tracy Chapman's album titled "New Beginning" and see if the songs there inspire you.
That's my suggestion.

Mmm celery! Very tasty.
Ok I've been busy on my art homework & have came up with 3 design ideas. But the trouble is I can't decide which one to do, so would it be alright if I asked for some opinions? My main topic was fantasy & I looked at Stephanie Pui-Mun Law & Amy Brown for my artist research (the design ideas have to be linked to them)

This was my first idea, it's done in watered acrylics & dry acrylics. I plan to do a monoprint in the top corner of some celtic knot work.

This was also done in acrylics. I had to cut the bird out after I painted it & stuck it onto the black paper, as I was unsure whether I'd ruin it.

I used watercolours & a sprinkle of salt for this one. I normally used watercolurs for my work, but I thought using them may make it a bit predictable.
(it was so faint you can only see it well when it's enlarged) This was going to be my fourth, but the paper went funny after painting a small section. Needless to say I quite liked it, though am quite disapointed that I find it hard to copy again.

Nice bird. Nice, bold brushwork.
Time to screw with your heads again:

Well I've decided against the unicorn because I can't draw it's hind legs too well. Now it's between the bird & the angel. I'll probably get my sister or friend's opinions.

I like the bird and the angel the best. i couldn't see the 4th one very well, and the horse was a bit elongated for a horse. still nice tho. horses are hard to draw accurately for most anybody.

If something is 'monged', it's considered to be Twisted or totally fucked up. That's how I have always heard it used here in the US.
Like when I 'monged' up the 'introduce yourself here thread', beyond repair. 0.o
But uh Mr. Phil might have a much different take on that but of slang.
I never did get to come back and tell you how much I enjoyed that piece you posted here;
Can you share what the emotions were behind it? I relate with it for personal reasons of my own. If it's too personal, I understand.
But either way, it is tremendously powerful and I like it very much.
Please post more. As far as the subject of Nudity goes, I don't see why it wouldn't be acceptable as long as it is in an Artistic context. I guess I should double check with the Admins to be sure.
Great work though..

But then again, posting cartoons in which eggs eat everything in the fridge, televisions are covered with human excreta and the principal character has a load of tubes stuck into his head, it's entirely possibly that I don't.

I believe monged has to do with the area where pubic hair grows... I've heard it used in the context of "monged pubis." But that's just an extension of mons pubis. Then again it's also been used to describe your state after hours of drug use (illegal drug use). Weed, acid, etc... (How fucked up something or in this case "someone" is. As EPS said.) So I'm thinking more of this slang definition as to why he used degnom.

The horse was tricky. The only reference I had to draw it with was a china figure & I only focused onto it's upper body.
All of my family have picked the angel so far, but I'll see what my friends tell me tomorow.

Stephanie Pui-Mun Law is amazing. I've used a lot of her work as inspiration, and I've even purchased a few of her originals.
Here's something I did...it's just a landscape I've had in my mind for a while. Enjoy...

Thank you! I used a bit of everything, actually. It started out as a watercolor, but I didn't like how the mountains came out. I switched over to oil paints, and painted over almost everything, except the sky...which is half watercolor, half acryllic. I don't usually do that, but I like how it came out.

That's really good work. I'm so out of touch with my artistic self I can't even pee my name in the snow.

So much serenity in that landscape.
I love your landscape work! It is always more than just trees, grass, hills, etc... They always manage to convey a certain emotion or state of mind.
You are very talented!

Thank you both, Manimal and Julia. It isn't very often that I paint, but lately I've been gaining a respect for the medium. I think the next piece I do will be a little off from my norm though. I like to experiment with the different 'sides' of art, if you will.

I would love to see the results of your experimentation. Please post a picture when you're done. If you feel like sharing, of course.
