if you need anything in the form of help, a shoulder or just to know you have a friend out there, my e-mail is edible_eye@**********
i doubt anyone would be so callous as to insult you, tenet - but if anyone gets a hair across their ass and decides it would be fun to do so - i'll make you my personal shitbag to attack at any and every given moment, both here and wherever you venture off to, within my ability. that's a promise.

Tenet, I wish you didn't have to go through something like that.

He is one of my classic BIG THREE of horror films:

Boris Kaloff
Christopher Lee
In fact, I'm thinking about buying a DVD box set from amazon.com of "This Is Your Life" because it features episodes highlighting the lives of Vincent Price and Boris Karloff (as well as Laurel & Hardy, Lou Costello and Johnny Cash).

Tenet,
Don't blame you for spending the money on booze. Man, what a bad fuckin' break. I'm usually pretty good with words, but don't know if I can express how sad and sorry I feel.
(damn)
If anyone had the fucktardly nerve to insult you or otherwise show their ugliness upon this very painful, personal revelation, they can count on me applying my flamethrower to their ass along with the others here.
No one can walk in your shoes now; we can only offer to be as supportive as we are able. I would like to offer a small piece of advice to you (not that I know much about such things, but ... ). Wait until after Christmas before you reveal this to your family.
Two reasons: One, it will be a very precious gift you can give them. Two, take the opportunity to savor and enjoy one last normal (or as normal as possible) Christmas with everyone, without them treating you different. After you tell them, things will never be the same.
I know you need to tell them and I hope that they all are as supportive as they should be. I just think you should wait.
Okay, that was only advice ... and you do not have to take it. You make the choice that makes the most sense to you and I will back you up all the way.
Be strong. LIVE.

Tenet,
Here's the story. I'm not a very sympathetic person. I'm not that "shoulder to cry on" type. So here's the best I can offer you as far as sentiment goes.
I wish you the absolute very best in all your endevers for the rest of your being in this world, and the next! I pray that your strength and will to just be alive will help to pull you through this troubling time. Because IT WILL get better.
There are 5 emotional stages that you AND YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS will go through in this process...
Denial - "Not Me" - I think you went through that in the past seven years.
Anger - "Why Me" - You may be there now.
Bargaining - "Okay, but first let me..."
Depression - "Okay, but I haven't..."
Acceptance - "Okay, I am not afraid."
Please let me know if there is, in any way at all, anything that I may be able to do. Remember, I'm a fountain of useless knowledge. If I don't know it, I have a slew of unbiased doctors that will know. Don't know how useful all that was, but it may be comforting in it's own way.
Again, all the best to you and yours this holiday, Tenet!

Hey E_E,
If Chuck Norris is so fuckin' tough, why'd he let CBS schedule his 2005 comeback movie "Walker Texas Ranger: Trial By Fire" up against "Desperate Housewives", "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" and the American League Championship Series game between the Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Angels? (Oct. 16th, 2005)
I mean, noooooobody watched that thing! The minute he saw that scheduling, he should have roundhouse kicked a half-dozen network exectives into next week's "60 Minutes."

maybe he did. we'd never know it, though. it would never have made the news because they'd all be dead.
oh, and lest anyone think that list was made by me - it wasn't. i got it in an e-mail (no author) and forgot to mention that. sorry.

Some hostility there , edible?
As far as I knew, this was a randomness thread and that was almost as random as you could get. PLease forgive me , oh god of fact finding, for not posting the sources and sources' sources.
As far as I saw it, I was just jotting down a piece of trivia.
But some are more anal than others so I'll be sure to site sources next time. Scout's honor.

It's been pretty quiet here lately. Is it because most people don't have christmas vacation? Hah. Or maybe I just have no life...

Whoa I think there has been a misunderstanding here...I think edible was refering that to someone else or maybe like me sometimes you have more than one window open and post in the wrong thread.
That is the case here isn't it edible? You weren't refering to urian when you were saying that, right? No one here is mad over porkrinds are they?

When I'm cold and at home, I try to avoid using the heater. If it's way too cold outside for a jog, then I'll probably resort to star jumps.

no hostility here. believe me, if i decide to get hostile - you'll know it.
as for the rest of your sarcasm, there's a tickle in the back of my mind that says you should have included a quick note referencing the show from last night. after all, it's not like you studied to drop those facts. they were given to you.
on the flip side - if you're gonna spit shit from your head as though you're casually dropping information - info. that's not your own - and someone calls you on it, try to take it with a bit more finesse.
