I don't think I understand my mother...

She disliked to cover of the Nightwish CD I had in my room, and said she didn't 'think that's the right direction' for me (O_o say, what?), then driving into K-town listening the Black Tape/Blue Girl, Jill Tracy, some DcD and TSoM, she really enjoys it (though I guess she doesn't know the genre, perhaps?). Then we went on a shopping spree for my dorm room and everything she picked out was a shade of black.

So, I'm not sure how the cover of a symphonic metal group (which is really, really tame. Dark Passion Play, collectors edition O_o) is 'the wrong direction', but then goes and takes cues out of Voltaire's Paint it Black while shopping. I really just don't know sometimes.

Thoughts?

Maybe it's just the imagery. My father is fine when I listen to death metal, but abhors the covers of my Cannibal Corpse albums. Some people are put off by little things.

Still searching for a nice gay couple in the SF area to adopt my baby.

Myspace is for networking my ass! 75 pages of people in the LA area browsed through and only 1 person with deathrock and any remotely goth music. What a rip!

::snort laugh snort::

My legs are cramped up. Getting used to two hours of dance a day is no joke. Plus I dislocated my toe again. The second toe on each foot is longer than the first, so it's always getting bashed up. So I'm leaning against the wall popping my toe back into the socket, and all the guy I'm dancing with can think to comment on is my callouses! Dancers do NOT have pretty feet. Period. Between ballroom (3 in. heels), latin (4 in. heels), and modern (without paws) my feet are not my most dainty looking body part.

Argh, dammit!

Due to our bandwidth almost being up I'll have to wait until the end of the month before I can access the internet again.

My colleague is being such an ass today. On Friday morning I asked him for some figures that my boss needed by the afternoon for a presentation, whereupon he responded that he didn't have anything. So I couldn't complete the report properly and my boss had to make do without. Which is NOT ok.

Today this fucking tard comes with the whole pack of figures - so when I asked him 'Where the hell does this come from all of a sudden?'; he tells me that he's had it since Friday but since he didn't have everything he couldn't give it to me. Yet when I asked him on Friday - he expressly said 'I don't have any figures.'

Now he's trying to pin it on me? Asshole.

That totally sucks, Nevan. I hate people like that.

Okay. It's official. I'm an insomniac and it's really starting to get to me.
For the last five days I've probably had a total of twenty hours of sleep.

I feel absolutely terrible.

Why can't I sleep? I feel as if I could just drift off right here where I'm sitting in the office, but when it's time to sleep at home, I can't

This is starting to affect my life badly. My reaction time is much slower and it takes a while for me to figure out really basic problems.

This is driving me insane.

I just hope I'm at least being coherent...

Shame - that's really bad!

There must be some explanation - Do you sleep during the day? What are you eating? Do you do any exercise? Have you tried listening to really boring classical music at night? Tried taking pills, drinking horlicks or some other god-awful bedtime elixir? Ginger & honey tea? You could always book yourself in at the hospital for some sleep therapy - although I wouldn't even try that.

I had serious problems with insomnia in the past. I found that a good dose of daily exercise and forcing myself to not sleep during the day - not even a ten minute nap - solved it for the most part.

I've slept for one hour in the last forty eight, and that was more of a light nap which was interrupted by next door's bastard barking mongel thing making noise *again*.
So... essay not up to scratch thanks to fucked up internets, poor attention resulting from no sleep, and acute lastminuteagia. Fuck. That's a third of a module I've messed up for no coherent reason.

No, their dog. Which was the cause of much frustration yesterday afternoon when I was trying to nap so I'd be able to work on the damn essay later.
I'm sure my neighbours are good people. I just don't like them, their spawn, their pets, their noisy television, their noisier washing machine, etc.
Something about living in this little suburban area still throws me off. I can sleep fine in a city centre with sirens every hour or two and occasional arguments on the pavement outside at 3am. I can sleep fine in the countryside with no sound except the whistling of the wind through old trees. But put me in a balance between populated and quiet, and it throws me off. I need noise or silence, not this in-between.

Ah, how I wished I lived in silence. Sadly, I live one house away from the street corner to the main street in my neighborhood. I've slept in complete silence at a friends house where he lives in the hills, and when I went out to the desert, and I loved it.

I still think "bastard barking mongel thing(s)" would be a cool nickname for their kids.

It's a good name for the little beasts and the four legged beast, yes.
When we viewed the property in March, the old neighbours were there. They did fire poi and were cool.
The same day as we moved in, so did this new lot- complete with children, dog and squalling baby. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

Cup-o-soup is so disgusting.

I had forgotten just how disgusting it was til somebody offered me a cup of cup-o-soup some five minutes ago.

And I found to my utter dismay that it's still as disgusting as ever.

Now I've burnt my tongue as well because it's too hot.

Ewgh.
