Schazmyrrh, I love The Blaire Witch Project, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist, and The Belle Witch.
Hey Lord Whiskerton. What's your story?
DRM, yeah. It's like this black lacy dress. I've actually been trying to find a black lace tired skirt. Was in SOHO yesterday, but my friends didn't want to do much shopping. Still on the prowl...
Valeria, that's cool. So what brought you here?
Viscus, I love the quote.

Being Jewish, I'd imagine you'd find the idea of selling dope to me a massive money making opportunity, in between doing other peoples taxes.

A period was so needed in order to not seem foolish when trying to correct someone else's spelling.

Technically periods count as grammar, not spelling.

Wouldn't it be punctuation rather than grammar?
Threads that turn into questions like this are so disappointing, haha.

I believe that the full stop should be in the quotation marks too.
But don't quote me on that.
I'm in a state of recovery.

I actually think it would be punctuatuion...but don't quote me on that. In reality, I have no clue. It's summer and I refuse to think about mundane things like school.

Jesus christ, it's 'mechanics', and the period goes inside the quotation marks.

Upon recovering, I am glad to know that I was right.

No, grammar is the rules of the language. Also, your comprehension is not quite as good as you'd like to think it is, since my post was obviously pointing out the irony of when someone tries to correct spelling and doesn't use correct punctuation. Which by the way, is the indication of the structure of the sentence itself. And yes, punctuation and mechanics are the same thing.
And yes, the period should most likely be inside the quotation marks for absurd reasons that I don't necessarily agree with, since the original quote I was in fact quoting did not originally include a period to begin with. Americans and their grammar are quite iffy and annoying at times, but alas years of English and majoring in said subject has made me know all kinds of rules from America and Britain.
British English is so much better.

I'm English, I always learnt that full stops, question marks, etc, go in the brackets.

It all really depends on how/what you're quoting. It's most tricky and is usually crap you get once you proof read.
Oh English, such a travesty thou is. And a pain in the ass!

Well I don't really have any hard evidence, but I've heard he was into that sort of thing.

Correct you are. I'd love to blame that mistake on how late it was when I posted that but that's a poor excuse regardless of the time of day.

Ok, it's punctuation. Let's change the subject because school should not be the topic of conversation during the summer.

Observation of proper grammar, spelling, and mechanics isn't 'school', its a vital component of communicating through language without appearing to be a moron, the importance of which happens to be reinforced by the education system in most countries. Although this line of conversation in particular isn't riveting, most interesting things worth discussing will be touched upon at some point in your schooling-- I'm assuming all you talk about during the summer holidays is the MTV Movie Awards and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit?

Point taken. I realize it's vital in not appearing to be a moron. I apologize. I just got back from a week long journalism conference for high school students, so I'm a little tire of hearing about grammar, spelling, and mechanics.
And granted my friends and I do talk about school, but mostly it's about two teachers who were fired for not doing their jobs. I don't watch MTV but am obsessed with Law and Order.
