By gosh, I wanted to burn Twilight after reading it. It has to be the most cliche teen vampire novel ever, and I despise the main character.

I had to look up the "Twilight" series on amazon because I'd never heard of it. YA romance with vampires? *shudder* It's bad enough the shelves in the adult section are flooded with "Paranormal Romances" as it is.

Let's face facts: being in a relationship with a vampire is like keeping a tiger for a pet. One day he will eat you. He'll be sorry about it, but it's his nature to eat you. Vampires can have conflicted natures, but the nature of the beast is such that he will always be villainous.

I once had the misfortune of buying a mystery novel featuring a wealthy gay vampire detective living in a manor house in devon. I can't remember the title...I think I might be blocking it out. Not, I am sorry to say, queer lit's finest hour.
