After you gather said knowledge and compile it in a coherent form, i'd love for you to post it here.
Welcome to GNet. i think this is the best introduction i've seen in quite awhile.
Watching you should be fun.

Ha! I can beat both of you at the same time while naked and unarmed, and then proceed to make use of my nudity while you're down.

He can use you as his partner too. Now THAT would be really fun for me.
I think any more than that, then I might be hard pressed.

The beauty in the jedi is that they never wanted order. They wanted the extermination of the dark side. The force can not balance without a light and a dark, so what they want was just as selfish as the sith, they were simply more self-righteous about it.

Well done! You passed my little test. No emotional self defense reflex mindlessly loosed, instead a calm, disciplined, thought out and controlled response.
I must say I am hopeful your taste in music and reading is genuine as we need more cultured gentlemen here on Gnet. Yes, I guess you are male, not that it matters to me.
In regards to the light-saber: the extension and termination of the blade length has always piqued my interest: if nano-tuned wavelengths could be used slightly out of phase to in phase, then a beam could be projected such that at the calculated distance the beam waves become 180 degrees out of phase and cancel out each other to produce the terminus, or a method to project two separate magnetic fields from the handle such that they polarize the beam once at the muzzle and again at the tip of the magnetic field to polarize it again into extinction, thus terminating the beam. Just some ideas I have been tossing about in my mind like a Cobb Salad.

Seems rather silly that they'd make them incapable of reverting back to regular laser beams (if that's what they are), though. Then again, it seems like most laser beams in the films were also isolated by some force (otherwise they would be incapable of visible travel).

Here is my thought on paper. This does not attempt to provide a power supply capable of the kilowatts required, only the beam termination strategy:

Luke ignited one before he could use the force, dude.
General Grievous uses them too.

In addition, Suvam Tan, Darcyl Nyl, Orman Tagge, Thall Joben, Leonis Murthé, Ghez Hokan, Boba Fett, Tarfang, Anja Gallandro, Remoh, Sinya, and Norval were all non-force adepts who could wield a light saber.
Not to mention the numerous times Han Solo wielded a light saber.
Light sabers are powered by very strong energy cells. The reason only force adepts are seen using them frequently is because of how much discipline and how fast your reflexes need to be to swing a sword that can cut flesh like butter that has no counter-weight in the blade.
As for you, Gothicus, be mindful of something. I never said I took myself seriously, you did. Jokes can be said in serious tones.

Seems like that would be easier than a regular sword.

Swing one wrong way, your leg is gone.
I'd prefered a regular sword.
At worst, It'll just bleed.

It's harder. Since there is no weight in the blade, there is no weight to counteract your swings, and the hilt acts like a gyroscope.
...what? Darth Nihilus isn't the only Star Wars geek on here.

Yeah? Well I wouldn't blame you for calling me a moron if I swung that shit through my skull. This just eliminates the problem of having to worry about being able to lift a decent weapon.

Most weapons aren't all that heavy. The only ones I can see reasonable trouble with is a Claymore or a large battle axe. The heaviest single-handed sword I've ever encountered only weighed like five pounds.

Not to mention that without a weighted blade, you'd probably be swinging the thing around like an idiot. Sword-play is manipulating momentum. If you have no momentum to manipulate with your swings, you'll probably just wiggle the thing around like a pool-noodle.

If the light saber is anything like the lasers in star wars it would be plasma. I have no idea what wielding plasma would be like but considering its the state after gas I would think it wouldn't weigh much.

It would weigh virtually nothing. Nothing worth weighing anyway. Add to that the hilt weight and you can appreciate how hard they would be to weigh. To simulate, find a weighted barbell (somewhere around four pounds) and attach a long cardboard tube (roughly three feet) and try swinging it around like you would a normal sword. You can begin to appreciate the lack of control you would have without quite a bit of practice. Now imagine the cardboard reaches a temperature of roughly two million degrees and will sever whatever it touches.

The cardboard tube weighs more, though. It's hollow, and you actually would be able to feel it from the barbell. Plus, you'd have to worry about it falling off. Sure, doing a lot of tricks with a lightsabre would be hard, but just fighting with one seems rather easy. I mean, you can see the bloody thing.
