I have to say some of the best food I have ever eaten was from both a little Indonesian restaurant , and the next night, a Portugese in Amsterdam. The food in both those places was absolutely fantastic.

This makes me sad, I love both Indian and Thai food (which really isn't at all like Chinese food) but most of what is available is rather low quality and indeed tastes rather unpleasant.

Me and my girlfriend both enjoy alot of foods from all sorts of different places, but more importantly, we both think it tastes better when it's made from scratch. When we get together this summer for example we have plans to make all sorts of things ranging from chimichangas to eggrolls, dutch apple pie to meatpie, steak tartare, a wide range of Columbian cuisine (we both have mostly Columbian blood running through our veins), and anything else we can think of. Frankly someday we might start a restaurant.

Its funny, I don`t like going to Indian restaurants but the Indian food I make is awesome. There`s really only two or three restaurants here that I like going to out of a sense that I think their cooks have a lot of talent, most times I feel like "I could have made this at home and made it better.", there is the vegetarian restaurant (they're really inventive, and its so amazing even the most carnivorous of my friends love it) and this Mexican restaurant here that is really accommodating and almost everything has a vegan alternative. That, and I love Mexican food the most.
I don`t think we need a whole subsection, I go to vegan forums when I want to talk about food, and even then its not very often I go to their recipe or food porn section because I hate feeling hungry and envious and start getting the will to go out and buy shit. Although I'm starting to learn how to make great awesome things cheaply, I'm making root veggie chocolate chili this week for my lunches and I just had wicked coconut curried veggies.

So ... there's a FOOD thread started in General that is fit for all kinds of food discussions, desires and fetishes. Doesn't that render this thread irrelevant ... or more precisely, obsolete. Because the original intent of the OP was to bitch that there was no place here to talk about food, and now there is. And since this is in Whining ... no one can whine about there not being a place to talk about food anymore. Since, as I said ... this IS in Whining. And further "waaaaaahhhhh" here does no one any good.
And before someone gets up in arms about that statement, consider that if you want to continue to have a place to talk about food, the most effective thing you could do would be to chat about it in the FOOD thread in the General forum and keep that thread alive.

Ben, I feel as if you're trying to suffocate the FOOD movement that is currently going on here, and I just can't allow it. Why can't every thread be about FOOD in some way? "Politics...in relation to FOOD". "Sisters of Mercy-shows you saw and the FOOD you ate that day". It can work.
I want every thread I go into have mention of FOOD in there somewhere.

But this is the "Goths suck and don't care about food" thread. If you have goths here caring about food, by definition it loses it's reason for existence.

No, it is now the "Goths suck and don't care about food... and the food they like to eat" thread. I agree with PJ, it can work! :D
