Then how can you NOT blame Obama if you think a globalized economy really depends on ONE man from ONE nation which is not even the worlds superpower anymore?
People who blame Bush or Obama for the economy just show their ignorance on how macroeconomics work. If you think "that's it?" it's BECAUSE it really IS IT for you; you really think the economy can be commanded at will, and that's just sad.

Well, from what I understand, regulations and policies put forth by governments, and the nature and/or lack of policies and regulations have an effect on business and the economy in general.

However, I will grant that one president can't have caused all the economic problems in the world.

I have read a few articles blaming de-regulation of banks and lending institutions, and a few that say that this de-regulation isn't the culprit. Some articles say that this started during the Regan administration, others point to Clinton, and some point at Bush Jr., as some of those who were allowing this sort of thing to happen on their watch.

I was hoping that you would actually have something with more substance to say instead of stating the same thing over and over with slightly different wording.

Look, either you had this economic downfall after the dotcom bubble or the housing bubble.
All the government could do is stall, and even this decision was not by the president. People forget history so easily, even when it was pretty much within the same decade.

The dotcom bubble was from people overzealous investing in dazzlingly new internet based businesses.

The housing bubble was a cumulation of deregulating banks and insurance companies, unscrupulous lending and a bunch of people not reading what they signed just to get a house they couldn't afford.

Much more than that and I'm admittedly out of my depth.

However, even that limited view of what happened goes towards proving your point, that it can't be blamed on one guy, whether its Obama or Bush Jr.

Yeah, it makes perfect sense to think that deregulation was just a drop of the ball or maybe it wassomething they did "for shits and giggles"
