What do you believe is the most important aspect of the Gothic Subculture?
The music, the style, acceptance among each other.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about Goth?
Not everyone who looks different from you is a Fuxxing White Domination Nazi who Worships Satan...thats only some people.

What introducted you to Goth: music, literature or something different?
I think what really got me into the world of Goth is actually a Mexican, a Mexican named Jose, we met in Pre-Algebra, Freshman year of Highschool ( I started actually getting into the Life-style just this year, so I'm still a good bit new, I was actually asked if I was goth in my C&E class, I thought it was funny for some one to ask that. ). I had always admired the way he dressed and the way the other Goths looked and socialized among each other. I'm quite happy to have made the change, i've gotten many new friends and know people who actually like me now.

What do you think is the main difference between Goth and 'Emo'?
I can't really explain this to well, when I see some one who I think fits the description of Emo, I get an Emo reading. Which i guess would be Heavy make-up, tight clothing with some looser stuff on top, kind of like a transition stage in their life, contemplating if their life is worth living or not, and when they find they want to live, they make another transition into a different social class, or staying where they are because they like how they look and feel, or just don't know what to do with themselves. Kind of like mentally growing up.

If you could wish one thing upon the world, what would it be?
I really dont want the world to change, i like the way most things are now, we're not to smart, there are no robots to rebel against us, we have enough technology to make everyone happy. ( Except I'd really love a virtual reality gaming system, how awesome would that be? )

What do you believe is the most important aspect of the Gothic Subculture?

The fact that it introduces romanticism, hope, and beauty to the darker side of the world/mind. Where there is only darkness, goth seems to discover the light that is buried beneath the crumbling aspects of time.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about Goth?

That our light is greater than our darkness. Black is just a shield from the plain.

What introduced you to Goth: music, literature or something different?

The comfort I felt while wearing black attire. It fit well with my moods and personality.

What do you think is the main difference between Goth and 'Emo'?

Goths are content with themselves, they are happy with whatever comes their way. Emos tend to focus more onto the negative aspects of life, nothing will ever suit them.

If you could wish one thing upon the world, what would it be?

I honestly don't know. There are too many issues in this world to even care anymore.

i dont really know. i would say acceptance, but i dont get acceptance(among the majority of other 'goths' i live with). i say the DIY attitude. DIY fashion, DIY ideas, Do It Yourself... Individuality.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about Goth?

that Marilyn Manson is NOT goth.

What introducted you to Goth: music, literature or something different?

when i was tired as hell on my regular 2 hour train ride i decided to listen to Type O Negative believing it to be slower, lighter music. as i usually listen to thrash metal/death metal, this was quite different. ever so slowly, i started to like Type O Negative and i actually listened to them because i wanst tired, because i wanted to listen to them.

What do you think is the main difference between Goth and 'Emo'?

emo is a teenager following trends. its amazing that to be emo you have to be very specifically dressed, but at the same time there happens to be very very many emos in the world.

tight pants, black fringe, stripey jumpers.

goth on the other hand, is very much DIY orientated when it comes to fashion. goths spend time on their clothes. they cut them up, put holes in them, switch them around. just as an example, this is a quick look into my dress.

i wear tight black jeans. they have many holes in them, and i wear two layers of stockings underneath, fishnets and plain black stockings. more noticably, my pants are covered in various pictures of bands/tvshows/characters/logos that have influenced me in my life. i have final fantasy covers, type o negative albums, a zoids cover, digimon covers, No-Smoking No-Drinking alcohol and No-Drugs signs on my pants. i see this as elevating my individuality. wearing my influences on my pants also i have a pinstriped top. it had clickable buttons, not ones you loop around, ones that click in place. i cut the shirt appropriately and reversed it, so the buttons are on the back. i wear other layers of fishnets/stockings on top too.

acceptance.

What do you believe is the most important aspect of the Gothic Subculture?
Nothing: No one aspect of ANY subculture is the most important, in my arrogant opinion. It's an amalgamation of all aspects, in addition to what each individual member decides to bring to it, or make important in his/her own understanding of said subculture.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about Goth?
That we're not all depressed suicidal Satan worshipping weirdos...only the fun ones! Kidding about that last bit.

What introducted you to Goth: music, literature or something different?
I'd have to say literature, though I didn't realize it at the time. Poe is fantastic, though disturbed. What introduced me to it that I actually witnessed, if that makes any sense, was Rocky Horror Picture Show, since at the time, most of the cast and crew were goth.

What do you think is the main difference between Goth and 'Emo'?
Emo sucks? Is that a valid answer? In seriousness, I'd say attitude. Emo is whiny, Goth is contemplative. At least, with the people I know. Though the comment about gnawing life's arm off and beating it about the head and neck is pretty accurate too. Heh

If you could wish one thing upon the world, what would it be?
Elimination of all stupid people, WHO REFUSE TO LEARN. That last part is important, because everyone is stupid about some things. The ones who attempt to better themselves are acceptable. I will not accept the ones who don't try, because they are wasting air for the rest of us.

I guess the music. it's much better, and the mutual empathy of everybody

Music, literature and style.
I have always liked the literature and the style, but I only had a rather recent awakening to the music.

What do you think is the main difference between Goth and 'Emo'?
emo are only half goth (like me). we are a bit depressive, we don't dress as drastically and we pretty much like the same art.

If you could wish one thing upon the world, what would it be?
acceptance
