But...

...no, they didn't. It's a parody. It's funny.

That's the only way I can deal with getting older.
I used to look uh.... like SOMETHING. Big time.

Now....

I look like a bony scare crow and gravity has taken its toll!

Gravity is fun. It's all, like, down and stuff.

On another note, I do like your philosophy in life, LaKeesha. I've always seen it as you're either laughing or you're crying, and I'd much prefer to laugh. It's funnier.

Effexor XR always helps too! Heh heh heh.

I notice your views remind me of my husband when he was your age.
He is kind of your hot-rod "rockabilly" type with all these tattoos and whatnot.

I didn't marry him for that though.

I married him cuz I had to.... uh... yeah. LOOOONG story.

I'm on Wellbutrin. Shit's AWESOME!!! It makes me pretty horny, though, which at my age doesn't help.

Any who, as you're a cool chick, if you're in Eire come down and see my show. I'm funny.

Hmmm. Maybe I oughta try THAT on him! All he wanna do today is RE-DO the damn garage. (He is 34 now but I married him when he was 23 and he drove me out of my damn mind. I was 28 and pretty set in my ways. My husband is also an "alpha-male" if yous know what that is. If not, go to the zoo and look at the lions or ANY cat colony for that matter!)

I just don't think that they achieved what they were going for if no one recognizes that it's a parody, etc.

No, I mean some of things that the members were saying about goth. I know, I do laugh at myself like every other goth; but some of which I question were to be taken as jokes.

"Goth" is this incredibly-evolving difficult-to-define thing that differs from person to person, and no matter how seriously you take it, someone is going to think something you think is goth is definitely not, and they'll be right.

And it's really best to laugh at ourselves. I mean, if you take yourself too seriously, you're going to walk around offended all the time.

Exactly. It pisses me off when people take themselves so damn seriously, and that entices me to piss them off.

If that was true you wouldn't be offended right now. And yes, I'm assuming that your "tone of voice" is offended right now.

I do take my gothness seriously
You said that. So, are you serious, or not? CHOOOSE!

What I mean is that I take goth very seriously, it's a poetic, beautiful asesthic that concors the truly great area of the world. It being projected to myself, no I don't take that specifically to speak for myself.

"I can insult a whole group of people, based on stereotypes, but if someone does that to me, I'm going to get offended."

That's just my opinion. I know when you put it that way I sound like a total arrogant fuck, but I honestly have nothing against baptists. I was mad at the sight, so I overreacted. I complement you for being very good at challenging people's opinions.

What way SHOULD I put it? Just based on your comment, and your reaction to Pyre's comment, that is exactly what you were saying. You didn't say to Pyre, "I see your point, I shouldn't make broad statements about people based on generalizations and stereotypes because I don't like when people do that to me," you just got upset and offended.

If it were me, I probably would have questioned why someone on a gothic website would say something like that, and in questioning, I would have seen her point.

I realized her point late, that's why I posted "F-Baptists" and with that reaction I thought nothing but to respond to that. Yes, I've made some large flaws I do admit. I did get upset, I'm just a new member so I'm adjusting to the boards. I do better next time.
