Vyvian likely meant him with a previous heairstyle :? I hope...^_^
It's funny that so many people suggested layers (which i shall likely get) because I used to believe that layers are for people with very fine hair to make it much fuller. Ah well. At least now know

Look at some j-rockers hair. It's not really gothic but very good-looking and stylish.
Aoi/Uruha from GazettE, Jui from Vidoll, Shun from Alice Nine etc etc, alot of nice hairstyles around.

That one's hideous! XD

Good goth, the shaved one? Uhmm...yeah that...well...no. But I was actually thinking the one in the Sebastiane video on youtube. Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore.

Haha, a message for the general public.
If you believe what Vyvian said was racist, you're all babybats.
And if you believe that means I'm saying goths are racists, then you're all p0hzurz.

Jrockers really do have awesome hair. I like Aoi's hair. Jui's is nice too ^^ But the factor of my wavyish thick hair will create a dillema. Thanks for the idea though, I'll look up some more JRock styles ^^

I feel the undeniable urge to update this thread even though it has long been forgotten and I somehow doubt my news will be of any significance. So it's a zombie thread now? And if you have some sort of life other than reading pointless updates, please at least try and answer the bolded questions.
I'm so kind. XD
Anyways: Keeping your suggestions in mind, I went ahead and got a hair cut two months ago. I'm both glad and dissapointed. The fact is that until last year I never payed much attention to my hair so I don't know my hair that well (aka how to make it stay how I want, what styles are best for such texture and all those other trivial matters). (I'm a late bloomer when it comes to my appearance and physical self T.T"). Last year I got that haircut that was shorter in front and longer in back. Simple but I could be very creative with it. Sometime before I got the current hair cut I had realized how creative I could be but it was my last chance to get a hair cut before vacation so I went ahead and did it without a though.
It is now vice versa than what it was before (longer in front and short in back) and I now have bangs. All choppy. I was also aiming for layers but my hair stylist refused to cut layers for lord knows why so I did not push her to give layers. I am sad because my hair is no longer that workable, the bangs can sometimes give me the hell I was aiming to avoid, and my hair poofs more than it did when it was long. I am happy because my hair stays straighter, I have been complimented a lot for my bangs and when they obey they look quite nice, and lastly: I know my hair now. I know what is good for it and what is bad and etc.
So anywho:
My plans: I am aiming to henna my hair black because I have heard that henna harms your hair less than regular dye. Is that truly true? And where could I find the dye? If this is untrue what dye would you reccomend?
Also, just for fun, I'm going to grow my bangs back out just so I can play with them as they grow. I may ask suggestions at certain points from my friends at Gnet and...on this same thread! (Le gasp! I amazingly will not be creating new, useless threads about the same subject! Fie on me.) I will also be growing the rest of the hair back out and keeping it at the previous length (no longer maybe a tad shorter) Oh yes, and when it grows a bit longer I shall cut it shorter at front longer at back once more.
And a two quick questions about hair gel: what is a good gel that will work for longer hair and will not be stiff or volumizing? Furthermore, what is the best hair gel with both the latter features and a 'wet effect'?
Thank you if you bothered to help me in my choosing of this hairstyle, if you bothered to read this post, and/or if you answered any of my questions from this post.

Long hair can get really boring though, you get to the point you want to do something different.
raineofblood: Hairgel can look a tad icky and is better for styling short hair. Try using a squirty hairspray instead. If you want a sleeker look to your hair, use a serum. Not too much though or your hair will look greasy.
There is no such thing as black henna....black henna has lots of strange chemicals in it, including the chemical for black hairdye. Hair damage through dying is mostly only prevalent if you're going lighter. Going darker isn't a problem most of the time. If your hair starts to feel dry, use a shampoo and conditioner with coconut oils in.
None of this stuff has to be expensive. It's all the same stuff but in a different bottle.

Yes yes, I know there is no black henna and it's poisoned XD Someone had told me it is better than actual dye though so I suppose they were wrong. Strange chemicals. O_O
And like you said :it got boring: that's why I chopped it off XDD
I'll take the hairspray advice though

I think i'd feel safer using something actually meant for my hair than that stuff lol XD! There are far too many horror stories involving black henna. It's not that it's bad for your hair as such, it's because black henna causes awful irritation to your scalp, open sores on the scalp, swelling of the face etc Which you have to go to hospital to treat.

Yes, long hair does get boring. How about dreadlocks? But you want bangs so how about getting your hair thinned and then cut into choppy layers? Just make sure you don't look like a friggin emo.

"Thinning scissors are a throwback from the 60s"
They can be abit dodgy, especially if overused. Choppy layers are really all that are needed for that sort of look. Thinning the hair would just be too much, then it'd really look emo.

Are you suggesting haircuts for ME...?
I really hope not because that means you are officially stuck in the past...O_O
If you want to know what the fuck is going on at this time and not fifty months ago, go to the last post on the first page.
Oh yes, and I was just thinking why I had not used hairspray in ages and HA! How could I have forgotten? 1. I tend to spray it in my eyes and face O_O and 2. Hairspray gives me a headache.
So yep. Still back to looking for gel.
Oh, and when I said a gel for long hair I meant for hair down to the shoulders. Not long. Mediumish. So if long means really long my hair was never long. Ever. It was medium long before I cut it so...yeah. I guess I don't truly know what is meant by 'long hair gets boring'. I'm so damn confused so just answer the questions and leave me be O_O (Questions meaning those at hand not those from a few months ago!)

Actually, the traditional "black henna" hairdye, which is really indigo, is not dangerous at all, just chemicals (I think it's called PPD) that have recently been passed off under the same name. Indigo is perfectly safe and dyes hair a purplish-black colour. Neither indigo nor PPD is actually henna, but both can be mixed with it.

What do you need gel for? Backcombing? or like....what!?...lol.
I personally...have never used gel on long hair, because it like...solidifies it abit too much. Ever thought of wax? Just a little bit of it to maintain abit of the style.

Yeah, but you can't actually get pure black henna to dye your hair black with.

Well, I need a gel to push the bangs back once in a while and also in london I saw a gel with a wet effect and I got it. When you put it through your hair it makes it look well, wet and I didnt bring it to the states and they dont have that brand here so...yep.
Okay okay, also if anyone knows a good hairspray Ill TRY it. Maybe I wont be allergic if it is good.
And a reccomendation of good black hair dye would be good while I search more into henna.
