Well, Trivium IS a gothic clothing store, but a lot of their stuff is fetishist, or at least borders on it, and that's not my type. I'm more into flowing, lacey, velvety, satiny, etc clothing. I have found a few pretty cool bits of clothing that I did get.

I'm not in Ottawa right now, actually; I'm away at university. But yeah, Ottawa sucks. I do have to go down to Toronto, because my friend tells me there is more than one gothic clothing store there.
I went to Rock Junction once. I found a yellow button that said "The fact that no one understands you doesn't make you an artist." I bought it, and lost it a few years ago. I must go back there :\ maybe pick up a new one and/or a different one. Or I could go to this place on campus that will make a button of your own design for 0.25$.

There's a fetish/bondage store called The Crypt that I visit every now and then. Otherwise, I stick with the Internet--plenty of options and deals and it's quicker.

I suppose I'm more leaning toward fetish clothing in my wardrobe.

The shops in Alberta are extremely overpriced. I was in Edmonton yesterday and they're selling a pair of $400 boots for $700. The markup is incredible. Especially considering that our dollar is at par with the US (or very close to it).

Edmonton has atleast 4 shops that I know of. Calgary has one shop that is half assed worth while, one shop that caters to Rockabilly, and one shop that is the Canadian version of Hot Topic. I even hear that Airdrie has a shop. They're all over the place. You just have to look.

However, if you live in smaller towns or cities, you may have to drive out or order online. My preference is to order online, even if I do have access to a handful of shops. It's considerably cheaper.

For less elaborate clothing, ie for work, I hit the outlet shops or grab things that catch my eye, regardless of store. I find that Le Chateau carries the odd thing here or there that I like.

At 400$, they'd better be a damn good pair of boots...
Aren't salaries higher, generally, in Alberta though?

If I wanted to start ordering online, I'd have to get a paypal account. That, and I like to make sure things fit and look good before I buy them...

But I agree: Le Chateau does carry a few gothable things.

New Rocks are expensive, so why pay more than you have to? Also, these prices have been inflated for as long as I can remember (even before the booming economy). Stores will charge what people are willing to pay I guess. I think it's rather foolish from the consumer perspective.

I sew hamburgers from fast food restaurants into large cloaks, and make hats out of their fries. I am the Burger King.
