If you offended anyone, then you should apologize, does not matter if they are prep, goth, punk, hoodrat, etc. Always be a good person and take the high road. I try to be friendly with everyone. If they don't like me because of the way I dress or the music I listen to, then it's their problem, not mine.

Depends on the person.
Was she merely a prep? Or...was she malicious in any way in her dealings with you, your friends, or other people?
If it's just the first one and she was just asking for chocolate and you or your friend were handing it out to *anyone*, then why be so mean? Especially if she's nice...If, however, she falls under the second question, I probably would have said something mean myself.
Then again, I'd probably have to think about the sort of person she is...If her prepiness takes over her personality, if it makes her make poor decisions about her life and whatnot, I wouldn't want anything to do with her. Even give her chocolate, lol.
Weigh the person by their intelligence, not their interests. Sometimes, actually I find that most of the time, the latter determines the former. BUT sometimes it doesn't.

Fact was, she asked for chocolate, got some and then begged for more o.o
Begging for more chocolate is, as stated, a deadly sin! O_O

I don't know much about her except that I do know that one of the friends she's with she's a light-switch friend. (Er that means she's her friend one min. then the next she hates her because either her other friends are around or for some other dumb reason :/ ) As well as I also know that she's good friends with this other girl who I think has a phobia of anyone she thinks is "weird" touching her even if its the mere accidental brushing in the school hallway.
The girl (the first one, the "prep") hasn't been mean to me but at the same time she hasn't been nice to me either. She does seem to ask a lot for things such as hair bands and items such as chocolate.
The boy (note: he's not really my friend, just some kid I know on the bus) who was handing out chocolate had this really tiny bar like the ones they sell in school fundraisers. Which made me mad in the first place because as soon as the tiny bar was out, kids were already nearly tackling him. o.o but I guess the girl just made it worse because partially Yes: I don't like people being mean to each other (that now includes me being mean or at the butt end of the insult) and I think that her asking for the chocolate over and over (along with what little I know of her) is what ended up as my snide little comment.
As to the rest: I now know that what I said was a bit harsh, yes, so an apology probably was the best solution rather than listening to on-going comebacks throughout the whole school year.

Dude. Not at all. Well, it didn't sound harsh to me, anyways. The way you describe it, this girl doesn't sound like she or the people she hangs out with deserve anything.
Don't let them leech off of your kindness and don't be too chicken to say, "No!". (Ok so it was just chocolate but still, lol).

I concur with everyone else.
It wasn't nice, sure, but sometimes you have to just put your foot down when it comes to people like that. It's good that you apologized, but really, you weren't in the wrong. The fact that you said you were sorry already makes you a better person than she is.

Um, it shouldn't matter if she was a prep or not. If you were rude to her, (which you were) then you should have apologized.
