I saw this awhile ago, it's great.
I've also seen a website with plans to make a huge one of these, they said it would seat something like sixteen people, sounds ridiculous to me though especially considering the way both the smaller one and the larger one moves. It would either rattle around too much or hardly move at all, I'm no engineer though I have no idea really.

I think making an anatomically correct mechanical spider would be far too difficult if they plan on making it on a scale large enough to seat 16 people. A slightly larger one would be cool though. I can envision myself riding one with a pair of machine guns mounted, wreaking havoc downtown and crushing cars.

It's not anatomicaly correct, it's exactly the same design as the one in the video just alot bigger.

Both. That perform each others function. At the same time. And it's a robot.

I'm sure every one will start talking about it again if you make it into the shape of a spider.

yes, unfortunately. I kinda figured it flew in the face of the ideology behind it, but I guess you have to pay for clean up somehow. They also put together art grants, donations for "green" buildings for things like school buildings in poor areas, etc. right now tickets are selling for 250 and 295 a pop. they have an application program, if you can convincingly explain why you need a discount ticket, and the app is approved, you can get in for about 150.
The price on tickets goes up throughout the year, and they don't sell them at the gate anymore either. You MUST buy them in advance.
The whole buying/selling thing is still taboo, except for that they sell coffee and ice in center camp.

That's fucking bullshit. If Harvey is still involved, dude must have gone fucking crazy, that's the only way that could ever happen. Fuck that.

I haven't been for a long time. The site says that Harvey's still the man in charge. That's fucked up that he's making people pay. Dickhead...

Well, if you know him, maybe you can ask him what's up. I thik it was probably initially to cover clean up costs, but still, at an average of 300 a pop and given a population of like... over 45,000.... wow. try 13.5 million???? whoa... my math or figures have to be screwed up somewhere..... maybe they have to pay to use the land now?

They chose Blackrock because it wasn't owned by anyone. It might be now, but I dunno. And even though the place is massive, it's still far too much just for the cost of cleaning. I haven't talked to anyone involved since the nineties, but I might call him and ask him what the living shit's up and where he can stick it.

They don't pay much for cleaning, I don't think. Everybody stays after the event and either cleans up for themselves or they have a cleaning crew. If I had some open-minded friends I would attend. I don't like going places alone.

If you find out why it changed, and why admission is as high as it is, please let me know, feel free to PM or IM.
