Envy, I'm having a bitch of a time learning to crochet.
I would highly recommend getting Stitch N Bitch and using http://www.knittinghelp.com/

I sympathize. My new commander is a fucking moron. When almost the entire post had the day off from the holidays, he made us come in for a run to show off to his boss. The roads still had ice all over them because there weren't enough people left to drive for anyone to care enough to throw sand down so early. Well, guess what happened? One of my buddies fell in formation, and someone much larger fell on top of him. He dislocated his shoulder and spent his Christmas like a gimp.

Indeed I knit. I think I was cabling with four needles before I was 12, but then I lost it (because I didn't knit for a decade or so), but I knit. I come from a long line of knitters.
Never learnt to croquet because she didn't know how to, but boy could that girl knit. A mans jumper in 3 days, and still run a house. I swear sometimes I'd see smoke coming off her needles- they were moving that fast!

Crochet just feels more looser and light. Its pretty easy. Everytime I see someone knit it seems tight and difficult, I still wanna learn though.

sorry the she was my mum...
Jin - I'm going to find some oldies and get them to teach me to crochet. Knitting can be loose too.. big needles (say 10's with 8ply). i'm doing a scarf on 5.5 needles with 8ply.. Found a beautiful knitting stitch called fa-got stitch (see link)
http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patt...eofaggotst.htm
Although I suck with putting the yarn over.

I can't do yarn over yet either, I tried the fag-got stitch before and couldn't do it. What a unfortunately named stitch.
But yeah, big fucker needles are awesome. I got metal size 15s somewhere, I swear I could easily kill zombies with those.

I knit and it always seemed easier to me because it was tighter. tight=secure, less likely to come undone. or at least in my mind. crochet seems loose and easy to unravel but I haven't crocheted much

I think the reason I'm not so good at crocheting is because I instinctively want to make the stitches tight. I wanted to make a joke about being tight, but I think I'll take the high road as well.

Not an ingrate about the pen! I've thought about the needles as zombie killing instruments since I got them ages ago. I don't think I ever showed them off here though, so no way you could have known.

Fuck you, you do gooding cuntmuffins at school. No, I do not feel that my six year old needs extra lessons to progress his maths and English. He is already well above average in both subjects and I don't feel that he is at an age where he would cope with or understand extra work. Take your damn opinions and shove them up your arses.

At least you have a face that works for short hair so it should look okay, even if it isn't what you wanted.
I hate guests that just stand around looking at me and then get mad when I ask if I say anything to them. If you look at me I'm going to ask how you are doing and/or if there is anything I can help you with, don't throw a fit about how I should leave you alone. I'm not fucking sales it doesn't matter to me if you want to just look around, I'm cool with that, but when you stand there staring at me it makes me think that perhaps you want help.

Oh, its a boy's hair cut. There are subtle differences between a chick's pixie cut and a boy's cut, and this lady didn't know it. Granted I should have learned five bad hair cuts ago that I shouldn't go to the cheapest place in town.

Even in sales I fucking hated when they'd freak like that. I'm supposed to ask! I'll get in trouble if I don't!

Perhaps you could spike your incredibly short hair... and put some glitter in the hair goo...

I get so uncomfortable when HP swears. Like I'm six again and hearing something I shouldn't be hearing.

Just get really stoned and don't shower, then you'll totally look like a hippy
Also being covered in mud totally helps, in fact you should just use mud instead of clothing.

I’m really bored at work and my neck and right shoulder are really sore so I’m getting really cranky and snarky. It doesn't help that two of our baseboard heaters have decided to stop working. Thankfully they did put the one in behind the desk and that one is working just fine.
