I thought that was overall death rates, doesn't N1H1 kill a greater percentage of the young adults that it infects than regular flu does?
Though I think that idea may be unproven due to insufficient data.

No she was going from door to door in my apartment building with her mom (so I got the family infected, awesome). I had the last two days off anyway and today they told me to stay home. They want none of my germs.

Port Washington is a lovely place. I only live in Texas for 4 reasons - November, December, January and February!
And OH HOW I MISS SUMMERFEST!
Thanks for the good wishes.

ABC Evening News tonight reported that the most recent available statistics state that over 6 Million Americans have contracted H1N1. The danger of this virus is its heightened contagiousness, and that due to the sheer volume of people contracting it the virus will cause greater numbers of hospitalizations and deaths among the at risk population (the young, pregnant mothers and people with compromised immune systems.) There are also legitimate concerns about the capacity of our medical systems to handle this if it goes a certain way. One admittedly pessimistic estimate projected one third of the populace eventually contracting the disease.
It's not time for Chicken Little to run around crying, "The sky is falling." On the other hand, it is time to get everyone to take this seriously, and do what they can to minimize their own risk.
I know a thing or two about this. I am currently taking medications routinely prescribed to chemo patients (I am taking them for psoriatic arthritis, not cancer), and so I am considered to be in that "at risk" populace due to my lowered immune system functionality.

Let me correct that "6 Million" comment:
Between 1.8 million and 5.7 million Americans caught pandemic H1N1 influenza this spring, as many as 21,000 were hospitalized and perhaps 800 died, according to new estimates by researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The estimates are necessary because many cases are not reported to public health authorities and the CDC stopped requiring laboratory confirmation of new cases because the labs were becoming overwhelmed.

Aren't there some red cheetos that have like jalapeno peppers in them or something? Red hot cheetos? That would account for red AND swolen.
Or it could be he's just yanking it too often.
Hey, homelitexl, any blistering on the palms?

Club AntiChrist this evening and I haven't even finished making a very important part of my costume... can't find the damn superglue. Gah! This part of the costume is important, because without it I have to change the entire top half and it won't be nearly as aesthetically pleasing.

Your dad and my dad could also kick it. My dad speaks fluent German and also ends up saying things like that. One time after a couple drinks I walked in the door and he bypassed forgetting my name to using his standard greeting for my dog Snoopy, which was
'Well hi! You're a stinkin pupdog."
I just looked at at him until he realized what he had said and he looked embarrassed went back to watching the "Kanji Cowboy" on YouTube.
I just got innoculated for H1N1 and it's going better than a regular flu shot normally affects me.
