I love your anime drawings, Sanctus! They make me want to have at go at drawing anime-style pics myself.

By the way, how is "anime" pronounced? I pronounce it "animay" but my boyfriend insists it's "animee" - or are we both wrong?

Err actually it is "anime".

http://animeworld.com/essays/defineanime.html

That explains how the slang got adapted from the Japanese word.

The word "anime" in Japanese is slang for "animeeshon", meaning "animation".

Well it is pronounced like that.

Just spelled the other way.

You do say; An-i-May, they just spell it "Anime"..

Japanese=Confusing..

Sure, sanctus. would be happy to. You could start learning now if you wanted. there's so many free 3d apps available for download, no reason you should wait, unless you want to. it might give you a bit of a heads up once your classes on it begin. i'm still learning myself, with tons more to go. it's endless, really, the things you can do with 3d.

This is something I sketched a long time ago. I used photoshop on it as well.

I do my best work in paints. I'll post some when my camera battery is recharged

very cool, Phayte. It's a dragopus with wings...

the filter you used reminds me of this project i had in high school art class where we had to paint a portrait with Q-tips. we were allowed to use a reference image from a magazine or some other source if we wanted, so i used the cover of the sister's floodland cd. my instructor kept it, put it on the wall. i never got it back.

I'm currently attempting to scan some of my sketchbook. Is there anything I should know when trying to upload to photobucket?

Set the max limit for image size to 512 K, so they don't turn out horribly small when you link them up. That's about it, I think.

Looking forward to seeing it!

edit: Oh, it's already there! Really nice, I like your style. Keep 'em coming!

here's a painting i did about 2 years ago, based on the memory of a sketch i did in highschool. its acrylic on canvas, about 10 x 14 or so. i have it on my bedroom wall. getting rather dusty. i'm not so good with the paint. i'd like to do more.

understandable xnguela. i admit i'm not too good with paint, and acrylic is difficult to work with as it is. i didn't want a whole lot of realism or detail in it tho. i might take it through z-brush and see what it looks like in 3d.
