Thanks! She weighed herself the other day and has lost another ten pounds. That's about twenty in the past two months. Oh, and I proposed to her this weekend and she excepted.

Thanks everyone. It's funny because she's lost a lot of weight and it's starting to flatten so she's getting impatient to lose more. I've told her that's normal so I'm going to start making some diet sacrifices as well.

*sniff* i'm glad you still love me Ape... there are days when it's super hard to function.... and the battles are so hard, and the mountains too tall, and the triggers too much and then I watch funny cat videos on you tube, and laugh my ass off at those stuck up little critters doing dumbass shit, and find my resilience to keep on going again.

Ugh, I'm hoping the cat videos are helpful and you get a break now and again. It sounds like heavy going. *hugs*

Ah Fruitbat reading your words, my heart goes out to you.
We so often feel entirely alone in our battles, that feeling coupled with the consistency of the fight .. it's tiring, it seems to worsen or deplete our resolve.
If you can find small comforts, some alleviation within the struggle then grab that and have some time to breathe and catch your breath <3
Be mindful tho .. those seemingly daft kitties are the greatest of actors!
All that cuteness and silly antics is actually a cleverly played out rouse to lull us all into a false sense of security! Their primary agenda is world domination!
Never forget that! I too laugh, often tears streaming, they are pure hilarity!
Just always remember tho .. cats want to rule the world!
I only know this because my friend Kaat and I were together for 18 years.
During that time we bonded and she let down her guard .. one nite we both had a little too much to drink and she let slip the truth. The next morning I tried to re-approach the subject, but she was cagey as fuck! Not just hungover; but blatantly avoiding my attempts. This led me to ponder and suddenly I had flashbacks :o All those occasions of near misses, her constant element of surprise .. like the occasions when I was walking down the stairs with a large filled laundry basket. and she suddenly just HAD to run o.O
They're small cute and furry masterminds

anise - indeed they are - I've often spoken of a cat revolution and the evil cat overlords.. it's okay because I've already bargained by jobs - it's either kitty litter duty, or the patter, when it's moulting season, so I get plenty of cat fur up my nose (which I hate)...

Ach - It's been like this for 16 years... Because I'm a functioning PTSD (or a very good actor), I've actually had arguments with so called counsellors who have told me that because my diagnosis was so long ago, that I no longer have it.
for starters, I control my triggers, I control my disassociation, I control every fucking thing about PTSD, about my fear of human contact, about my stress, about my hair falling out (which according to Mr Bat, isn't really happening despite the physical evidence to the contrary) about how I'd really love to just live in a garden for the rest of my life and not have to deal with people and society and all that shit and how I'm surrounded by people who simply just don't get it, that all this controlling leaves me exhausted, that in reality, I have zero support network, because everything they have going on in their lives is all too hard for them, so it's just me, controlling my anxiety and panic, and getting ever closer to being desperate about that garden of mine - plants are so much less demanding than people, and will often allow you to have a cup of tea, before tending their needs - plus their devas are amazing.
So you see, I'm on my own, occasionally I vent, occasionally I allow myself 15 minutes for a pity party, then I get back on my horse and go out there, my armour blazing and a 'go get fucked' attitude on my shoulders, and my very intimidating laugh that I give all assholes... and I'm back being fruity again.
Fuck, I deserve an academy award

Yeah. I know. People don't understand how long it can last and how well you can mask it. You're heroic Fruity.
Is there any possibility that you can carve out some time for a break in a quiet spot, possibly even on a regular basis? (I understand that with a sick husband and a kid it'd be a challenge)

It's winter .. is that why we're feeling all meh?
Dunno about you folks, but at present I just feel like hibernating ..
Not sleeping very well, so days are harder .. plus they're gray .. dark.
Getting the odd crazily beautiful winter sunset sky, they're amazing!
They kinda see me through, but fuuuck me winds of 70+ mph .. RAIN!
Ugh .. just UGH!
I think a lot more in winters depths, that can be unhealthy ..
Dwelling, lingering on things .. raking over old coals.
It's all meh, in between me forcing myself to do creative splurges.
If I don't do that insanity festers and I'll be a dick to everyone.
So .. onward & upward eh

Actually guys .. just sat and thought about it ..
And if I'm honest, I'm dreading seeing my Grandparents @ Christmas.
I'm awful aren't I :/
It's just that I currently have red & pink hair.
That doesn't tend to sit well with the Gramps.
My Gran is cool, but Grandpa is fucking Edwardian!
He's very strict, judgmental .. straight.
Nice chap etc, but he will just give me THAT look ~~
I see them every so often throughout the year, my Sister usually pre-warns so I can 'straighten myself' lol .. I just rrreally couldn't be assed with dying my hair with a wash in wash out .. esp for a few visits of a few hours each o.O
Maybe I can scrape it all back and sport a hat? LOL
Sit there quietly cooking! Like when my Sis got married and I couldn't be a Bridesmaid because of my arms and back tattoos being blatant! So I got a lovely '50's style dress but still had to wear a frickin Bolero jacket/cardigan thingummy over the top. Bloody red tomato face! I was steaming hot that night and my Gran kept pulling at the Boleroness saying "Why don't you take this off?" .. Er .. cos apparently Gran everyone will die if they see tattoos o.O
UGH .. just ugh! Ya know?
God I've just totally depressed myself LOL
But yeah .. stuff & things that really get under my skin!
* 'Scuse the pun

Anise, I think you should try the 'kill 'em with kindness' strategy. Buy the old geezer a beautiful, personal Christmas card and fill it with outpourings about how much you love him and look up to him and what a great role model he's been to you. Yes, this may possibly be a gross distortion of the truth but older people like flattery and they like feeling as though they're still relevent. I used to act this way around my aunt who I only saw at births, deaths and marriages - eventually she saw me as her biggest fan and stopped telling her younger sister (my mother) how weird I was. Might be worth a try.

Oh No, That's the worst.
I don't even pretend to like it anymore.
Couldn't care less.
I Straight Up Just Walk Outside.
Never understood the appeal of most sports, least of all football.

My son and I often feed the ducks down at the pond of our local park. Watching the ducks and pigeons fighting over a grain of corn is all the sports watching I ever do.

And it's probably still more entertaining than Football.
I had to stop feeding the ducks/geese around here because if I'm there fishing they find me and come over to hang. I don't want them to get tangled in my line. So now I have to 'stealth mode' it to the back of the lake,
And they Still manage to find me.
They're alright though.
After all, it's their home.
And I'm just a visitor.

Not really a sport, But...
How about pool? (Cue Games)
Almost everyone in the 'Scene' around here plays pool.
Might just be a local thing.
