Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

I'm not really too well-versed in the world of 80's thrash, but I'm guessing this is pretty much the sound, based on what I know about it. Very punk-like, simple yet technically advanced riffing, shouted vocals... all very tight and blasting, but with a sound much closer to filthy, organic hardcore than the clinical and ultra-precise sound of, say, Megadeth.
Oh, and the artwork is hell of cool, you've got that right!

Yeah, I remember them. Oddly enough, that was 1 of my favourite Heavy Metal songs of 1992.

"Deconstruction" by Pitchshifter. Can't help it. I love this song. Strongly Godflesh-influenced.

Listening to: Municipal Waste - Mountain Wizard
Methinks Beowulf could enjoy this band. It's a brand new album (Waste 'em All), but with a fucking old-skool, dirty thrash sound.
|
I think you're thinking of 'Figurative Theater'? Only Theater of Pain is the name of the album.
*Gives noogie to Pitseleh*
Wulfy, I don't have 'All the Love/ All The Hate', yet. Currently I have only the one. I've been listening to it in memory of the 8th anniversary of Rozz's passing.

Ouch! I hate noogies...
*sullenly goes to consult cover*
No really, I'm sorry WolfMoon; you are of course right... "Figurative Theatre" it is, actually. I just thought, since he sings "it's only theatre of pain..." on the song "Mysterium Iniquitatis" (who can remember that name anyway?!), and I just mixed it all up. Great album, anyway!
Listening to something altogether different at the moment. Some nice British shoegazer indie pop:

Sed Non Satiata - Urgent D'Attendre
French hardcore band with some emo moments... Mostly screaming and dissonance, though.
