Essentially it is a sandwich that contains cheese, you fry in in a pan (or on a griddle) until it is golden brown and the cheese has melted (hence the name). They are full of warm, gooey goodness.

I'm making homemade toaster pastries, and I covered the scraps with cinnamon, sugar, and a little bit of butter, the apartment smells amazing
