Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Tomorrow or next week I have to go to the French school. I was told that they don't speak English there, only French and Greek. I'm afarid this will be quite embarrassing. In Greek, I don't know most of the technical terms, in French I do, but I haven't spoken French for years and now I might do fine reading it, but if I'm able to construct grammatically correct sentences .... I have my doubts.
anyway. The Nefilim - Shine

Oh! I almost missed this. Thank you very much for the translation. The "volontaires" part I kinda knew, but now the context is clear with the other word attached to it.
So, you're going to visit a French school, eh? Not to play on the "arrogant Frenchie" stereotype, but I hear that many French are kinda... reluctant to speak English. I don't know why, really. A friend of mine was in paris on some gathering called "International Marxist Forum", and he found most people to be supremely unhelpful when he asked for directions and such in English. I don't know any French at all, it seems like kind of a difficult language, and I'd rather learn Spanish anyway, so... Good luck with that, though!
Swing Kids - Warsaw
Hardcore band covering the old Joy Division song. Very cool.

Pitseleh listens to obscure bands that cover awesome bands - Demonista Ravenesque
Her voice is terrible! This music sucks!
I'll change it to something else...
Cow - Gene Loves Jezebel

That looks like a signature, right there. If I was one for signatures, I might use it too. Funny cuz it's true! Well, in some cases...
Here's another one:

Vision of Disorder... not really my cup of tea, sorry. Too NYHC-macho for me. It's just the vocal style, rhythms and riffing that I don't like. I'm more into... hard to explain. Check out some of my preferences in the thread pertaining to that sort of music, and you'll get the idea. Like this one:
Kaospilot - The Vicious Cycle
Norwegian hardcore band.

Oh my..So you've actually heard them?
You're one of the very few who have.
House Of Fun - Madness
I love this crazy song!

Yes, I was listening to selections from Earth Inferno, and it is a spectacularly good live album. And I don't normally see the point of live albums.

Morrigan, did you get the Dresden Dolls' new CD? It came out like, 2 weeks ago. It's pretty good, but they changed a few of the lyrics on some of the songs that they've been performing at concerts...and it upsets me.
And, I've been alternating "The Dresden Dolls - First Orgasm in the Morning" and "The Smiths - There is a Light That Never Goes Out" on repeat for 3 days.

Yes, I just got it last night... I haven't had a proper chance to listen to it yet. But I like what I've heard so far. I'm going to see tehm live on Tuesday for the first time. Looking forward to it, even though the venue is kinda crappy.
I'm listening to Walking in my Shoes - Depeche Mode

Horrorgirl, That was the first Metallica song (and favourite) I ever heard, back in 1984.
I agree with you, their music has really gone down hill (Load/Reload/StAnger) since the `Black Album`. Their best material was in the era between `Kill `em All` and the `Black` album, but mostly with the first three albums.
