I've gone back to my old diet plan, I don't eat until three thirty. This way I have little time to fit food in me. I got full and can't fit anymore in before I go to sleep. This time I've added walking four miles almost every day. I'm also trying to cut back on sodium.

No, if you are going to do pilates then do the real thing and for the real thing you need the right equipment which includes a bit fucking thing, which I believe is what takes most of the strain off of your back.

Actually I was talking to my friend today, and she said that I should see if I can talk to a pilates instructer... apparently pilates was origionally designed as a form of yoga for people with back problems, so that made my day. Hopefully classes aren't too expensive, because there's a gym just up the highway. Maybe I can't complain much longer

Yo, got your saving grace. Go between two bars about shoulder width apart. Put your forearms and elbows on it. Hold up your weight then bring your knees up to your chest. It will work your abdominal muscles without your spine.

Thanks. Being in a group kind of puts me off taking classes, so I'll see about both. If I can't afford one, the other is super cheap

Right, I was bored so decided to compare my weightloss so far with how I was before.
So this is me last year at nearly 17 stone (240lbs approx)
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...n/IMGP2262.jpg
And now at 14 stone 4lbs ( 200lbs approx)
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...thorn/fat1.jpg
So not quite as bad I think. Long way to go yet though. I've lost the most fat on my arms and upper stomach think. I've lost a couple of inches all over in general.
For my height I should be roughly 9 and a half -10 stone so that's about 140 lbs roughly. I reckon I should be alright by my birthday (September) next year and should hopefully not look too horrific by my friend's wedding in June next year.

Honeythorn, that's awesome! You really slimmed down a lot.
I'm happy because today I tried on some of my clothes that I'd gotten too big for recently because my bigger clothes were getting pretty baggy. I'm so proud of myself that I lost three dress sizes and I'm back down to the weight I was when I did way too many rave drugs, but this time I'm losing weight becasue I feel mentally healthy so I don't eat compuslively and I've been watching what I eat and exercising regularly. I still want to lose four to five dress sizes, but it's really pleasing to be able to physically tell the difference. It's also great to feel like I have more control over my life and my health in general.
But I'm really worried about my mom. She's had a lot of fucked up stuff happen to her that she's never gone to thereapy for, and I finally convinced her to go. Hopefully she'll get some counselling on overeating among other things. She's old and has diabetes and I really worry about her weight, and I know she really feels like shit that she's gotten as big as she has... so, as cheezy as it sounds, I really want to be there to support her. It really worries me that she was exactly my age when her dad died of a heart attack, so I really hope she does this for herself.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well and I'm equally glad to hear that your mom is getting the help it seems she needs, it will be nice that you two are kind of going through this together so you can be able to support each other.

Me undies isn't fitting so well anymore. I have been slacking. No running for months, eating a lot of crap food and hardly any good food. I think it's 'cause I've been poor and living off of scrounging in my parents' fridge for something vegan and then giving up and buying chips and fries elsewhere. I need to go grocery shopping.

Don't see why you guys don't just stop eating bread/pastry foods and maybe eat smaller dinners, it really isn't that hard.

Not exactly sure what your hoping to gain from an Aussie perspective considering Australia is apparently the fattest country in the world, which doesn't surprise me considering that last week at my Dad's work conference where I tagged along (it was all company payed) 90% of the men over 30 had guts.
Seriously though, to lose weight all you have to do is lower your caloric intake. Most people burn around 2500 a day. So if you only consume 2000 you'd at the end of the week lost one pound, seeing as 7 x 500 is 3,500 calories where 3,500 calories is equal to a single pound.

Sex. Apparently it's a very useful tool to combat weight.
