What I loved about Underworld wasn't so much the vampires as much as the background: dark nights, rainy nights, wet streets, black boots and capes, Victor (not as the character, but as the idea of 'sleeping' for hundreds of years and then reawakening), the all-too-quick scenes in the vampire mansion livingroom with all of the oh-so-goth vampires. But yeah, the token love story seemed to be added to the plot as almost obligatory, without much complexity. As far as character interactions went, I did like the almost father-daughter relationship between Victor and Selena.

I mean, seriously, no one does that anymore!
I was going to say something about always trying to be alone when I sit on my throne, but...ah, forget it.

Eh, I like a mixed variety myself. I've read stories where one was Jesus Christ, others where they were wiped out by nanites because the vampirism was a virus, or vampire apocaklypse. (Christ, late night spelling.)

As for the vampires in Underworld, the whole vampire-werewolf hybrid was a bit of a turn off for me. Since their mortal enemies, it would be interesting if he ended up having multiple personalities with the vampire side trying to destroy the werewolf side... *Ahem*

So, how about those Nosferatus? Bald chaps aren't they?

I love Nosferatu. I think he is better than any vampires portrayed on TV.

I had friends that didn't get the story line to underworld 1.

The second Underworld movie was quite gory and the love story in it was told. But it caused the movie to have my sexuality and nudity and it made it almost like a porno. But otherwise I loved both of the movies, they were good. And I liked the plot.
