If I can do it anyone can. My shop is decorated to my style, I call the shots. But it isn't a "goth" clientele, here, in Hershey that would be impossible, as I stated I am the lone grown up goth. I still have a successful business, partly because I am dedicated to doing the best nails ever, and partly because there is no salon like mine anywhere. When someone walks in they just *feel* the difference. Find something you enjoy, find something you are good at, and become excellent at it, then call your own shots. It is worth it.

fair enough, I just want to own a clothing shop, and it would be weird to do otherwise from what I wear.

I don't see the enjoyment of rewards you did not earn as actual enjoyment, just betting by on the coatatils of someone who will either wise up or die. Scary to live your lifestyle at another's whim.

If she is vapid enough to enjoy it, bully for her. I just can't see how anyone that attentionwhroing can be even remotely content.

Ans I do see respect as a reward. It is hard fought and won, unlike money which can be found on the street.

All the same, I am a believer in the "walking a mile in another's shoes" hippie philosophy. I don't liek to think someone is happy because they are smiling. I do not choose to believe what somes easiest, what is open to the senses, what is nto thought out

I do love respect more than most other rewards, but 'effort=happiness' is not a constant in the world.

Oh, and, if I had a shop, I would love to have a coffee house. That's what I dream of having while studying philosophy in college.
It wouldn't be all-goth, just intellectual but with a cool gothy-influenced ambience. My mother says she would finance it if I prove her it would be profittable. ^^

It's not a constant, no ideal ever has been. I guess I really should move to Canada, build the compound and herd moose with the rest of the hippies.

HA!!!

Lemme just say that I've been offered a job at an Italian restaurant where the workers are artists on the side next to a live theater.

So far, things are seemingly looking up. Talk about awesome. It's also in a very LIBERAL city.

I think I'll be able to breath very soon.

So much for compromise.
