I'm a UK size 20 ( US 18 ) I don't like the way I look, but I have joined a slimming group. I'm not a lazy bastard by any means, I'm on my feet all day, and I can't drive so I have to walk everywhere. I don't eat bad things as such, just too much of them, and I have a sweet tooth and late night cravings I'm trying to find a way around that though.

I like several body types. Slender is good, muscular is good, and heavy is good. I am happy with a person how they are happy with themselves.
However, I do not find the emaciated body or the morbidly obese body attractive. That's just my personal preference.

At the same time, though, I should say that I am in no way a "chubby chaser".

Who had fewer body issues?
I always complain about my weight, but after reading this thread I realize I need to stop my moaning.

If you have excess flesh; who cares? If the world is so caught up in the idealistic beauty of "skin and bones" let them. If some guy/girl wants you to be skinny to make them happy tell them to piss off. Because the one you are going to be with for the rest of your life are goign to love you for who you are not for what you look like.
Granted that is a plus, but its the mind that is going to stand the test of time. Marry/be with someone you like to talk to. That will be most important 60 years from now.

Well, I can't say much about overweight, pudgy, curvacious or skinny people, but I am absolutely in love with the body that has been honed to perfection through long hours of toiling exercises just to achieve the look of peak human fitness (I'm a gym buff, go figure). Although that is my preference, I'm not that picky. I once had a girlfriend who was around 110kgs. (250lbs) and had size DD breasts (yeah, I'm a boob man. I loooove boobs! xD).
Still, what is the most important for me is the mind. A good mind should be reflected with a good body - a body at its peak fitness - in my opinion.

The ones who had the greater hip to waist ratio, the hourglass. It may have been bigger than the "norm", but the proportions were more skin to those we see in the media. Those who were "apples" and carried their weight higher had lower self esteem over all.
Interestingly, Latin and Black women had fewer body issues than white women. *shrug* wonder why white girls wanna look emaciated, when the other two wanted to look curvaceous- big boobs and hips/butt, but small waist.

badteccy, you lie! I've seen your pictures, I know.
But really, society is always obsessed with a body type few people can achieve. And it's always for all the wrong reasons. It seems the only reason thin-ness is so 'in fashion' at the moment is because that's what runway models have to be. Is it that hard to figure out that the only reason they're so thin is to look like coathangers? It makes sense... They show off clothes, and in shops you see the clothes on coathangers. Might as well make them as close together as possible, right? It doesn't mean EVERYONE should look like a coathanger. Far from it. I, for one, could never find myself attracted to a device used for hanging clothes.
Yeah I'm rambling now, and I don't really know what my point is anymore.
So anyway...
I'm thin as a rake. No boobs. A bit of an arse. But a waist that fits into even the smallest size Victorian clothing, so I'm happy. Hourglasses are awesome, no matter what size they are. This is why corsets exist, and why they're a godsend to all creatures great and small.

Oh...my breast size is 38C, but I am 4'11. Naturally, my breasts look bigger because of my height (or lack of, thereof).

I have some extra weight, but it's okay with me. It means I've got curves. I am naturally a curvy girl. I could use to lose some weight because of my meds and all but otherwise I guess it's not so bad.

It just bothers me how much people equate thinness with health. Body fat is simply one indicator of general health, how it is carried and how much body fat versus hos much muscle you have is also important.
There are size zeroes who have more body fat than a size 6 as th ezeroes may starve themselves and not work out- little muscle, more fat stored, especially around their organs.
I work with some people who want to be skinny- they do not care about being happy. No one wants to work with what nature gave them as a foundation, they want to look like Gisele. Genetics are not a curse, they are a road map. Vary from the map, or take a short cut, you'll end up in "Deliverance"- work with what you have, with good food and good exercise and some targeted toning exercises.

I actually have posted on this particular forum before. Referring to the afforementioned post, I am glad to hear someone say that. I am actually trying to lose weight, but deep down, I think that miy motives are questionable. I am willing to diet and exercise, but I think that my main goal should be to build a significantly greater self-confidence in the way that I look and feel about myself.

And that is easier said than done. What I hear from some of my clients is that they would be happy if they were thinner...
WTF?
While the adrenaline and endorphins are a high and you feel better, getting healthy and getting a healthy mindset about the body will do most people more good than being a size 4.
Appearance is a part of how we define ourselves, but it is becoming a bigger and bigger part with every week. Many turn to repetitive plastic surguries for this reason- a new tweak here and there for immediate satisfaction until they see something else wrong.
Fixing the outside of a human is like fixing the outside of a car. It only looks like it has no issues or mileage.

No i'm not fat , I think we should all try to stay healthy and also lower the increasing number of chubby goths I see, just because football sucks doesn't mean we should play WOW and eat out the local convenience stores supplies of highly processed food with artificial flavors.

There is little wrong with anything in moderstaion, but if it was in moderation the issue would not exist to the extent that it does.
