For the most part I dress in a Romantic/Girly kinda way. I get most of my clothing on clearance, at thrift stores, or online. I don’t see the point in paying full price for anything unless it’s something I would absolutely DIE for (no pun intended). I have three black skirts that are three different lengths, a short frilly white skirt, a purple skirt that I made out of an old tank top, and I’m getting ready to make a maroon velvety skirt (already have the material). Other than that I wear cargo pants, jeans, t-shirts, tank tops, blouses, etc. My favorite shoes are my knee length lace-up Docs, but it’s too damned hot outside to wear those now so I wear my second favorite most of the time, which are an ornate pair of black sandals. I’ve got tons of other shoes, but I just don’t wear them as much because they’re either not a comfy or they don’t go with my clothes well.

I have a lot of jewelery, some of which I’ve made myself. My favorite necklaces are my amethyst pentacle, my diamond necklace (from my husband), and my Celtic birth symbol necklace (I bought the charm for it at a new age store & then made it into a necklace). I have some other accessories I’ve made or altered like bracelets, purses, headbands, and arm/wrist warmers. I would wear a lot more elaborate, beautiful clothing if I could afford it, but I haven't been able to buy much of anything fancy for a long time. If I had a lot more money to blow I'd be wearing lots of period clothing like Victorian, Rennaissance, and 1950s type stuff. I would love to buy some corsets, dresses, fancier skirts, etc when I get more money.

I just buy whatever I can get my hands on in black. For casual I just wear some black skinny fit jeans, with perhaps a black top. I always wear scarves. I have a few black mini-dresses for parties & such. For shoes, I have my plain black pointy boots, some black flat shoes & for going out I have some killer patent high heels. I just like to keep it rather simple.

Though I do have some more extreme stuff like some bodices, a corset, opera gloves & some six inch heeled, black patent boots, but I don't wear them on a regular basis.

I'm very girly when it comes to the way I dress. Lots of skirts, tulle, velvet, and lace. The only time I wear pants is if I'm working. Since it's summer, I generally wear the same pair of flats with bows on them over and over again, but for the winter I have a pair of granny boots and I just ordered a pair of 20 eyes online. I like to keep everything simple, but if I'm wearing something a bit fancier (I always look a little too "dressed-up"), I'll try and balance it out with whatever else I'm wearing. As for jewlery, I never take off my garnet necklace that matches my mum's, along with her old class ring.

Oh man, where do I even start?

Well lately, I've been mixing romantic/victorian with cyber. WHITE eyeliner and just about anything that's very bright white. It shines really nice in the black lights and looks damn right maddening in a strobe light. SOME people would consider the mix of romantic with cyber as steampunk. But I don't wear nearly enough browns for that.

If it's not that mix, it's usually something like layers of torn fishnets under a black tee and some non denim black jeans with black combat boots. I would guess that's more deathrock, but I rarely wear make up at all unless it's just a bit of foundation to make me appear to have a perfected complexion.

My hair is either in cyber falls or slicked back. Sometimes my hair is just parted in the middle.

Bollocks, I've got pics of what I'm talking about. It's not like any of you are a stranger to what I look like.

Well I wear a lot of black, fitted, skinny clothes, work or pleasure, with strong reds and silvers. And always something kind of band related.

I buy 99% of my clothes on the high-street and tend to modify and play with them, or combine them in unusual ways.

I tend towards skulls, animal prints, fishnets, bats and spiders. Goth or what!

Ultimately what makes my clothing style Goth I guess is that I don't just walk into an Alt.Clothing store and buy spooky stuff, (couldn't afford to buy all the music I listen to then - and someone who spends more on clothes than music is always a poseur in any scene), but subvert and mod my own stuff.

The mopey goths always go on about how Goth is about a deep inner dark creativity, which is bonkers, because Goth is Music, but they are part right when it comes to dressing up. Go create something.

Whenever I 'goth it up' I tease my hair up, wear eyeliner/eyeshadow and sometimes lipstick, though the lipstick is normally thinned so it only looks greyed/somewhat red depending on the color.

Lately my style has changed to where I'm more heavily into fishnet, vinyl waist corsets, and anything vinyl in general. I really wish there was goth clubs in mobile. =(

Right now I am wearing some light tinted moisturiser (from my gf - I normally tint my own using good quality water soluble face paints), with my own blended eyeshadow in grey. A vinyl jacket with Hand made Specimen Patch (bought from a friend in the US) Zombina Patch (cut from t-shirt), Last Days of Jesus Patch (made myself), couple of badges on a patch mount (made myself). Vinyl skinny jeans (girls ak!) accessorised with band badges and stacks of other dangly bits from accessories bought in sales and dismantled, including four silver clothes pegs which are actually nipple clamps!

Skully socks with some fantastic winkle-pickers in pinstripe fabric which I bought on the high street. Modded corsetted polka dot shirt, with thrift shop silver tie modded with skull detail and reshaped. A waist wrap from a highstreet cheap skull pattern tie I cut up, and a nice white skinny studded belt. And some silver wrist jewellery stuff too.

I am also wearing a sort of trilby like hat over back combed hair pulled into a top knot and splayed, with the under locks pulled back to a rats tail. There is some black manic panic gel in there to give it depth as my hair is undyed for work purposes.

Don't tend to do lipstick although your idea sounds great. I might try it, but right now I have a party to go to!

But earlier I went to get some kit from Church for work in the morning wearing skinny jeans, some monkstrap shoes i had modded with skull motif's and a band t-shirt (Black Fiction UK - Gothabilly like 80's Matchbox) and the hat. Someone asked me if I was in a band. I said I was in the Church ...

I try for the Victorian look as much as possible. Not really "goth," but, then again I suppose I'm not terribly goth myself. I find that European military surplus from the first half of the 20th century still has a very Victorian look to it, even if it's from the 40s and 50s. I love my wool greatcoat and waist length Swiss jacket. Dark browns, grey, forest green, and other similar tones are my colors of choice. I don't have much in the way of black, except for my square-toe harness boots.

This is all strictly fall and winter, I should note. The summer wardrobe is considerably lighter, by necessity. Fortunately, this part of the country has long autumns and even longer winters.

Best cheap way to do it - go to Walmart and pick up some black stretch jeans. If you're a guy, find out what you are in women's sizes. Grab a band t-shirt and cut it up. Tease your hair and put on some basic eyeliner.

For less than $50, you'll look more 'oldschool' than most people who think they do.

I wear bright colours usually - sometimes black. I suppose I look more cyber or New Rave (still not entirely sure what that is) I'm not really into stereotyping people by their clothes. I just try to use clothes to express me.

Anyway. I am rather fed up of my hair, so I have decided to have it all shaved off. I feel it's very symbolic of 'new beginnings' and whatnot, also, no more morning hair. *Thumbs up*

I don't know what it is, but I often make alot of ill advised gothic purchases.
For instance, I have two pairs of Docs. One pair is too small, the other too large.
Also my arms are too long for medium sized clothing, but I'm too thin for large sized clothing.
This has lead to the creation of an interesting gothic wardrobe over the years with all sorts of interesting 'things' to delight the mind.

I've got some lovely Sergeant Pepper-esk jackets that are black with red and white trimmings, although one has some really tacky plastic buttons.
Also I now have my funky Brocade trousers, 20 eyelet boots, velvet vest thing, various waistcoats that are too big for me and various black shirts.

I suppose you could say my wardrobe reflects my personality. A mish-mash of all sorts of swish things that could have been great, but just feel short of the mark. >_>
I'm really a huge fan of the more Romantigoth style of clothing and I like to think it's something I am slowly building towards. It's just taking a while is all... <_<"
The Dark Angel catalogue has me drooling every time I see it, so I'm saving my pennies for a waistcoat and funky shirt that might actually -fit-...

I have several pairs of boots, sadly, only about 2 of them really fit. My cool mini-boots (that make cool noises while walking) and my 20 eyelet ones (which brings whole new meanings to the saying "He died in his boots."). I don't have much in the way of jewelery but I do have some very funky pocket watches I like to carry around (and listen to them tick).
I don't dare dabble in make-up too much. Last time I used eye-liner I almost impaled my eye on the pencil. ><

Still, as they say, practise makes perfect.
Oooh, one last thing (sorry if I'm boring anyone) I've got these two really funky trenchcoats.
(I'm not feeding stereotypes at all am I?)
One is leather, which I bought from a friend and is (suprise suprise) a little too small, and the other I bought for a bargain at Blue Banana, and is a lovely PVC affair that looks amazing when it catches the wind.
But it really is full length.
Like 6' 2" full length, so I have to be careful going up and down stairs in case I stand on it...
