Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

*ignores the duck*
You should never use wax to keep a 'hawk up, it's far too heavy and will only flop down again (believe me, I've tried). Hair spray's probably the best thing you can put on it. The standard recommendation would be Aquanet; however, failing to get that, any cheap hair spray will do as long as you tease/ backcomb your hair properly first.

*nods at Minyaliel's advice* Back when my hair was real short, I'd use a bit of wax just for definition purposes, and a friend convinced me to try spiking my hair with it. My god, it took a crapload of wax and it didn't stay very long. I can't even imagine trying to use it to hold up a death hawk, with or without reinforcements. Hehe *imagines using so much wax that the hair looks almost like an actual wax sculpture, if a bit of a squishy one*

Tommorow I have to go get my hair dyed mouse brown at the hairdressers. I won't be able to get streaks or highlights of any sort. So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to make boring brown hair look more interesting, because my hair if going to be boring and brown for about a year...

you could always get fun colored extensions or spray in dyes for a day of fun. Thant and an interesting/edgy haircut helps

Make sure not to backcomb the DH too much. If it's too tight, it hurts your scalp.

I know what you mean. My hair isn't even back comb-able any longer though, I need to take some pictures, but I am camera-less.
