B-H, I think you're awesome, because you were honest with all of us, and that does count for something-- just wanting to be honest with others about how you feel about yourself, goth fashion, sh!tty friends, etc. Also, the peasanty-Wiccan-hair-down-your-back look is just as hot as a black, lacy corset and knee high combat boots. (Lemme put on my Anthropology hat that I found in an ivory tower...) Beauty is culturally defined, as well as personally defined. You sorta have to feel that out, and be aware of why you feel a certain aspect looks bad or good. If you think loose fitting cloths look good, go with it. Whatevs. But, speaking personally, I've never found fashion to bring me out of a gloomy mope-fest. It just makes it worse! Or gods, she's so hot with those dreads, and I have stupid hair and a pasty, pink face that look fuckin' weird with purple hair framing it! And then I realize, I hang out with graphic designers and photographers, and they made that girl look good with their computer magic. And I'd say it's just you and me that feel dumb and ugly, but entire industries are built on making us feel less feminine, too plain, and doomed to a life of loneliness and cats. Hate to say it, but fashion is a bch. But there's this great "punk" or "goth" or whatever spirit of "fk that industry CEO- I wear what I want" and that's the "fashion" everyone should take. But like anything fashion-related, it's skin deep. It's to get you excited about the inner strength you need to do another day at most, and generally it's just about not freezing to death. To change your insides, get active with something, find something to care about, volunteer, save the world, watch a ton of anime with a geeky club, something like that. You're already stepping in the right direction by talking to people.

You don't have to be good looking to be anything. Ignore what people say, and how people react to what you do, if you don't like it. As long as you're comfortable with who you are, who cares what other people think?

You may have failed to notice, but there are some really ugly people who dress goth.

It's the truth!
However, I used to think I was ugly as sin. Then I just said fuck it and dressed in stuff i liked. Gotta tell ya, I feel better about myself for doing it.

First of all, it's very likely that you're not that hideous... you don't have a tail or eyes like a fly's (or I'm hoping you don't) in fact you're probably not hideous at all, just insecure. We all need a lil' help in the prettiness/confidence dept. sometimes, the wonderful thing about goth? it offers you loads of options for making yourself look your best, while adding goth points. Heavy makeup? Corsetry? Slimming Black? Height adding, leg lengthening boots? Face concealing veils? This is all goth paraphernalia... and all of it allows us to fix those little spots nature over looked (including self confidence, which is I suspect, all you really lack) Like, I for example, look pretty hot when I'm all done up, but look underneath the makeup, and I'm nothing too special, and dreadfully insecure.
Plus the ol' war paint:

Not to mention, there are loads of hideous (and famous) goths, check this out.
Nick Fiend, of Alien Sex Fiend: http://www.chaindlk.com/interviews/i...Fiend_pic2.jpg
Rikk Agnew, of Christian Death:

Eva O, also of Christian Death: http://www.evao.com/images/angst-eva1c.png
Mark Burgess (technically post-punk), but still: http://www.timmcmahan.com/images/burgess2.jpg
The Cure Aren't Looking Exactly Hot Lately: http://cache.umusic.com/images/local...d0cff79114.jpg
Theda Bara (while not technically a goth, she is a famous 20's screen vamp): http://i.imdb.com/Photos/Mptv/1206/0989_0028.jpg

Joe S of London Afrer Midnight... with his slight cross-eyed-ness, and rectangular head is not a hottie either:

And you're nuts if you think the guitarist of 45 Grave is hot: http://www.geocities.com/dinahcancerpft/showcase3.jpg
No offense to any of these people, they fucking rock, they're just none too beautiful, but we love them anyway cause they're cool
