i don't have much authority to name the best band EVAR, so i'll just say my favorite music was played by Emperor. their earlier stuff especially. i could name off an encyclopedia of other bands i enjoy, but why? too off-topic, not enough time.

Yeah, posting a list of your favorite bands would be *way* off-topic for the favorite band thread, goo...

-Anyways-

I couldn't go without This Mortal Coil, The Cruxshadows, Depeche Mode, The Cure, New Order, AFI
*um, um, um*
Damien Rice, Nine Inch Nails

OK, I can't leave it at just the Bauhaus... I probably listen to these most often:

Delerium
Vivaldi
Skinny Puppy
Diary of Dreams
Switchblade Symphony
The Cure
Beck
Ludwig Van
:wumpscut:
and now (thanks to Bodnoir) The Birthday Massacre

Pantera/Slayer

 I think all music sucks, just some music sucks less than others. If I had a gun to my head I would have to pick a heavy metal band. Pantera or Slayer are at the same suck level to me.......[/u]

I've gotten over my fear of being lynched for this...

I tell people that my favorite band is Rasputina, but they're my second-favorite, really. My favorite band is Hanson.

Piss off. They're snazz.

I'd have to say: the best ever is Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows.

I read someone else also mentioning Sopor in their first and only post early this year... and then they disappeared! I hope it doesn't happen to me too?

Second favorite Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio.

obviously the cure must be mentioned, there are no doubts there, but to give you a slight taste of my musical background.... *deep breath*

korn, atreyu (sorry i probably fucked up that spelling, but it's late, sue me or blow me) killswitch engage, OTEP (they decimate all) slayer, lacuna coil, metallica (in the early days) the misfits, cradle of filth, skinny puppy, dropkick murpys, jack off jill, dimmu borgir, cannibal corpse, bile, leprosy, the ramones, axle rose...yes people, the list goes on and on (and on, and on, and on)

My favorite bands are Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus/Love n Rockets, Clan of Xymox, Legendary Pink Dots, the Damned, Enya (yes, I know, it's cheesy), the Cramps, David Bowie, Sisters of Mercy, Dead Can Dance, and Faith and the Muse.

And how do I feel about M. Manson? I personally despise his music. perhaps in a generation he will be considered as classic as the Beatles, but fame in many cases is not accounted for by talent. His is entirely based on image.
