oooh velvet. Sounds gorgeous. I admit, I love velvet but I'm sort of undecided on wearing it. I don't know why. I am getting this velvet corset jacket though and I'm very excited Hopefully, it'll be here in time for civvies. Do you have a uniform? Or fun clothes everyday?

I get fun clothes everyday. I don't expect that for much longer though. Velvet's so beautiful though, and I wear whatever I please, regardless of what people say. I have an ankle length skirt that is so much fun to wear. Kind of hard to negotiate the stairs in the school wearing it though.

Haha, I'm sure it's worth it. Is it one of the ones that flairs out when you twirl? And hey, I was wrong! For my birthday, my friend bough tme this amazing ankle length skirt thats black with velvet around the tiers. It's very pretty, but i've only had the chance to wear it once

You're lucky! Actually, though, I can't imagine what I'd do if I had to have something pretty to wear everyday. I'd be dead broke. Who'd have thought uniforms would have an upside? I'm a lot richer with them.

I am extremely broke. I just spent 100 bucks on fabric and thrift stores. Oh and i got some stuff at Target. But I look pretty, so that's always an upside.

The new thing at my school is for the ignorant gangster kids to tell me not to wear something, then follow it up with "I don't care about the rest, just don't wear ______" as if they were being generous or something. I'll wear my fedora if I damn well please thank you. I don't understand how they expect me to not be annoyed when THEY would shit if I told them "Don't listen to rap, I don't care if you listen to anything else, just stop listening to rap". Grrrr....

uuugh DIY, huh? Lucky you. I tried sewing awhile ago. All I can say is not my thing. I was horrible and it was depressing because I really wanted to make myself this pretty corset-style shirt. But maybe I'll try again one day. My nana could teach me maybe, but even though she knows how, she hates it too haha

And telling you what to wear? Wow. That would make me do the opposite. . . Besides fedora's are nice! I'm getting my friend one for Christmas. She's a hat person. Really, though, as if they have any say.

Fedoras are cool. I'm currently making a corset style shirt, and it's going great, but I haven't gotten to the boning yet :P I find it relaxing. Sometimes. When everything's going right, I find it relaxing, lol.

lol I don't think sewing could ever be relaxing for me. I'd be too busy concentrating on not stabbing myself. But who knows, maybe I just need lessons. I'd take classes, but I'm already doing too much extracurricular crap this year. Which is weird because people stress me out.

Only thing I do is an afterschool art studio. Then I get home and look bored. Then I sew.

Haha enjoy the boredom. I'm aiming for more that one scholarship for Uni so I have to be involved in things. I'm in... 9 or 10 extracurricular things at least. I was going to join our environmental club too, but its on Tuesday and thats when I tutor. It wouldnt be so bad but all scholarships want 'leadership' so in our school all leadership things involve religion, so if I reveal my non-catholicism, voila, there go my oppurtunities. Haha, the Religion teacher loves me though.

I probably should study, but I'm so tired of school, I don't want to do anything school related once I get home. That's why I do it at lunch!

Wow. The most homework I ever get is in Chemistry, and I do that in my lunch period. I despise that class with deep passion.

Catholic school huh? Me too. Allow me to express my deepest sympathies. Someone actually told me that since "god is the only way to love" and I don't believe in god, then I am incapable of love. That's one thing the Americans have down, the whole no religion in the schools is a DAMN good idea.

Incapable of love, huh? My school doesn't go that far. We actually have many religions in our school now, since it would be discriminatory to deny other religions, but of course, the Catholic values are stressed and we have mass and religion class etc. Our religion classes are very openminded though, if thats what happens in other places! I don't mind Catholics as long as they arent fanatics. This one girl (who totally digusted me) told me not to say 'Lucifer' (I was telling someone how the name meant 'enlightened', and isn't it strange that the bible always seems to portray knowledge negatively). The teachers I've had haven't been too rabid though. Then again, they think I'm Catholic too.

That's rather odd. I can't see whats wrong with uttering the name "Lucifer", especially when I know Catholics who didn't even know who he "was" until I explained it. Haha, they do tend to portray knowledge and individual thought rather negatively. Someday, try explaining to them that Ockham's (sp?) Razor disproves God. Quite an interesting reaction I can assure you. :P

Why don't you try explaining that to me?

Yes, do indeed. Ockham's Razor is an unproven procedural suggestion, and can't be the proof of anything.

I thought everyone knew who Lucifer was O.o Weird. But yes, they do tend to reward the anal retentively obediant. But hey, I guess for all their effort they deserve something, right? Psh, you'd think Heaven would be enough.
As for Ockham's Razor. . . It sounds familiar, but I don't recall, so I'll claim out of my depth? I could google it, but I'm lazy. . . If someone explains here I'll read it haha

Basically Ockham's Razor is the concept that all things being equal, the simplest explanation is usually true. Keeping in mind that d.Nox tells me it's an unproven procedural suggestion, it's not necesarily true, but it's a fair (IMO) estimate. So use of the Razor goes something like this. What is a simpler explanation, that this omnipotent being came into existence by itself, created reality and everything in it, and then vanished, concealing or destroying all proof of it's existance? Or that it simply was never there to begin with?

Forgive me if I misinterpreted the concept or it's uses. If I am indeed wrong and have made an ass of myself, then at least it's idiocy that helps my education.

Well, I suppose its as good a theory as any, but I think pantheists would argue with you. Well, probably anyone religious lol, but I suppose the major apology would be that just cause you don't see him/her/then/it... etc waving, doesn't mean him/her/blahblahblah isn't there.
I suppose that being content with ones beliefs is what matters though

Thanks for explaining though. I'm sure I've come across the theory before. I just can't remember where! Probably another forum...

Heh, I know what Ockham's Razor is. I was going to see if you could back up what you said.

Unfortunately or fortunately, however one sees it, Ockham's Razor can't prove anything. It's a suggestion.
