Gothic.net Upgrades You Would Like?

It's 21 minutes off over here as well, though I never really paid attention to what it was before I think it was, hmm, 18 when I first joined.

I would really like, having just discovered the 5-min time limit on editing, some way of deleting or editing posts. Partly because I like to correct my spelling when I notice an error, and partly because sometimes everyone stumbles, or spams, or mistypes, and it would be nice to have some way to erase my past dickwittery should I choose to.

Also, the posting rules in a pretty box to my lower left say that I should be allowed to edit my posts, but I can't. I am frustrated by the contradiction

That's definitely a bad idea.

The limit is on there so you CAN'T correct yourself in an argument and act like an asshole that way.
Can you imagine how frustrating that would be for everyone else?

Mabye if someone really needed to delete a post though, they could contact administrators or something?

You can already do that, there is a "contact us" link at the bottom of each page if you would like to message the admin about something and you can use that.

This may not be doable, but I would -love- a space on Gothic.net for a personal journal. It doesn't have to be fancy; it can have the same color schemes available for the forums.

I think it would be neat for folks to get to know one another better.

It depends on whether or not a journal is a vBulletin feature, and I've used/looked around vBulletin forums before and I've never seen something like that.

why not just give links to our live journals or something? I think that feature would be somewhat unnecessary as a lot of us have blogs anyway.

Fair enough. I suppose I'm just a little too used to boards where the edit function is only used to correct spelling errors or avoid double posting/spamming a thread. I've never actually had to think about that, which perhaps says more for how sheltered I am than how this board works.

Agreed, the sooner we are rid of him the better. I've reported some individual posts of him(through the post report system) which are prime examples of his unacceptable behavior(the pics thread post included).

I just keep reporting the really bad posts, maybe that'll grab the admin's attention?

I think Sek was the last person to get banned and that was a while ago, then again there haven't been many posts breaking the rules (and the admins don't ban someone for being a troll, just for breaking the rules)
