My kids went back to school today, and had to be practically dragged there. I hate when they have days off for the snow. And my boyfriends in hospital waiting to find out if he has kidney stones. I feel bad for him because I know hes in a lot of pain, and the roads are too dangerous for me to go and sit with him.

Kids are disgusting. Remember that Star Wars movie where they're making the clone army in the lab, and their growth is accelerated? That's how people should be born. That way, the public doesn't have to deal with children. Ever been stuck on a 14 hour plane trip sitting in front of a single mom with 5 kids that make it obvious that that she got pregnant with one kid days after the one before it popped out?

Parents who want to raise their children the traditional way will have to pay a tax to everyone they come into contact with, to make up for the stress their kids' bullshit puts everyone through. Say 100 dollars to everyone on the bus when your kid shits it's diaper, 200 dollars for every minute your kid whines about wanting a new video game, 500 dollars if you have a really ugly kid.

Clearly, my logic is undeniable.

Something dawned on me. Vampires are destroyed by sunlight, right? Vampires also come out at night. The moon is out at night. The moon shines because of light reflected from the sun. Because of this, you'd think that moonlight would also destroy vampires. Now I know that the reflected sunlight from the moon isn't as concentrated, but it would at least give them vampire cancer or something.

When I was at my local pet shop today to get rat food, I saw they had a rat for sale.

It was in a much too small cage, alone, which means IF it gets purchased it will probably be kept alone and be miserable because of it.

It was also almost adult, which means it'll have a very slim chance of getting purchased in the first place because it's not small and cute anymore, and it'll be returned to the breeder who will kill it or breed the fuck out of it in equally dismal surroundings.

To top it all off it had a gaping headwound! I left the shop horrified and vowed never to spend another penny there.

I really feel this sort of pet trade should be forbidden.

The Judge has acquired several pets in similar situations. Apart from the head-wound - that's just plain disturbing. Poor thing. Don't suppose you want it? They're adorable pets once they get used to you.

I'd probably have bought it if I hadn't just added a ritten to my group two weeks ago. I really wanted to take the poor thing home with me, and did consider it. But I'm at six now, and although I have the room I don't really want any more.

And I have never gotten a pet shop rat before, because I really don't want to keep this practice of breeding for profit going by contributing to it. Your post is making me doubt thought... Do you think I should?

I understand your position, I won't buy any animals from the pet store anymore, but if its in bad conditions....well, I can't blame you for wanting to save it. Definately talk to management about the head wound either way.
