Damn good thing I looked into this thread. I was starting to wonder if I was the World's Oldest Goth.
Maybe I'm the World's Oldest Goth who is a Newbie.
On the other hand...we should start a thread asking, were the Beats Gothic?
In which case we should be able to dig up some 60-80-year old Ancient Goths.

OmmadDawn- I've always thought that Goths were latter-day Beats. The predilection for art, poetry, lesser-known music, black clothing, freaking the straights, etc. was inherent to the Beat mentality waaay back in the 1950's.
Start that thread. -Gnossos

I'm 17... and often get the impression that people here think I'm older. Oh well. I'll be 18 next month.

We're very close! Mine's the 31st. My wife is from the Phillippines, and she's very funny. She recently told me every year she's scared when my birthday comes around that I might turn into some sort of creature. Keep in mind this is the same person who asked if there was a different moon for every country. She also thought whoever owns the Geico Gecko must be rich and asked me how they trained the Taco Bell dog to talk.

Okay now. If you all have been paying close attention to all of Gingerbreadwench's signatures, you'd have been intelligent enough to know that she is counting down the days until she turns 18. I had to post about it. I feel quite smart because I caught on to what she was doing very quickly. Happy almost birthday. (As for me...16 in seven days!)

I thought that I was close to being the youngest. 1988!
Mellow, I just want to say that you are very smart, especially for a girl your age.

I think I might be the oldest, at 47. I have socks that are older than some of you here. I was going to clubs just when punk was starting and before videos were shown in the clubs. Yes,, I'm an old fart goth.

Well, I'm embarassed to say I'm 33 going on 16... My idea of a fun week-end is still drinking beer, playing videogames, and doing girlie stuff like dying my hair and reading Anne Rice's books.
But I do have grown up moments where I listen to Baroque opera and read Proust!
