I'm also somewhat psychotic. But that goes hand-in-hand with working on a ship. There's something about this line of work that does strange things to one's mind.

It's all very well saying I have paranoia but I KNOW that people are watching me and I KNOW people are out to get me. I see them whispering! Just because it happens that the government keep checks on me and are survailing my home does not make me paranoid! >.>

Paranoia. Maybe partially true. I don't get it when I'm in the middle of a big crowd, like at a concert, but when I first enter a room, or when walking around at night, or in shopping centers, or when a group of people laugh and I don't know what they're laughing about. Also, I think I watch other people a lot more than other people watch other people, which may be because subconsciously I need to know what they're up to. It's more a mildly obsessive version than a full-blown thing.

I have never been told by a doctor that I have OCD, but I know I do have it. I am a clean fanantic. I cant go with out letting a dirty dish in the sink or something that has dust on it or dog or cat toy on the floor. It drives me crazy.
I went to this bar with some friends las year, they have hardwood floors and they let the customers throw the peanut shells on the floor. It drove me nuts, I wanted to get a broom and clean it up. I couldnt sit and enjoying myself knowing the floor was filthy. Granted I know the oil in the peanuts shells is good for the floor, but I thought a trash can was a better place.
I am the same way at home, I guess Im just mentally out of it!

Since youth I've seen three different psychiatrists.
I've been diagnosed, in the order of...
1. ADD
2. ADHD
3. Manic Depressive
5. Borderline Personality Disorder (my fave. It's like Schizophrenia Lite)
4. Bi-polar
6. Aspergers
I myself believe all this stuff is bullshit. Nobody goes to see a shrink without walking out with a diagnosis. Since I quit believing their garbage and stopped taking their legalized drugs my life has been a lot better. Don't fall for their brainwashing and serpent oils.

Very much agreed on that, actually. I was diagnosed with aggression disorders, paranoid schizophrenia, and delusional behavior. All of which I can understand because none of the doctors listened to one key factor- I didn't sleep. They treated insomnia as a symptom and not th eroot cause. Complicated answers are more fun and more prescription happy than simple ones.
Not saying that conditions like ADD, ADHD, M/D, etc. do not exist; but getting an accurate diagnosis of any of them is damn near impossible. And many mental dysfuncyions have a counter-culture romance to them, these days- else they are used as crutches to personality defects that mindfulness and determination could abate. Damn shame that excuses are easy and mindfulness is hard.

You know what stopped my more insane behaviors? Laying off the fucking drugs. At the times of diagnoses I was a total junkie and a heavy drinker. They said that I was self medicating with other drugs and the abuse was a symptom of my illness.
A few years ago I went through detox for 5 months and haven't touched anything but the evening glass of wine now and then or a monthly joint or two. No medication, just came off the drugs and became a completely productive and stable human being.
I believe heavy drinking is the source of most mental illnesses in the world. You forget that you can be happy and sober at the same time. Detoxing takes time so people usually settle for taking meds. Funny enough, most of these meds carry a 'no drinking' warning. No wonder they feel better!

Not saying that getting sober is an easy fix, but it is preferable to be at ground zero.
The only reason I think that most shrinks (in my experience) would recommend being clean is to get hooked on their drugs instead. It's a scam.
But tangental to your take on the "do not take with alcohol" label is the label on most headache meds... "Take with 8-10 ounces of water". Most headaches are dehydration.

Most psychotropics and drugs for mental stability advise you not to take alcohol with them. If some one drinks a lot they are going to have emotional problems. Not drinking constantly will most likely help you regain your sanity without medication. Take it with a grain of salt but I think its a tactic used to make the meds seem like they're solving more problems then they are. If drinking isn't the problem then never mind. It happens a lot though. People will go to a psychiatrist after a crazy bender because they feel like shit and come out with a new diagnoses and prescription.
Water is the best cure for most headaches. That's good advice.

That is good advice.
When I think of it now, most of my headaches happen when I've been drinking things other than water.

Another small percentage of them are withdrawal from sugar and caffeine (a diuretic, as irony would have it). Caffeine, though, is prevalent in the best of headache meds as it speeds the heart rate and pumps the active ingredients more rapidly. So, for the rare non-dehydration headaches, look for caffeine and aspirin or naproxin sodium, or chew some willow or oak bark.

I'm slow. It just clicked with me what you're pointing out here.
Damn conspiracy marketing! This subject warrants it's own thread.

It's selling freezers to eskimos, man. They only sell you what they think they can convince you to buy; and you buy what they sell.
They don't make products that you need, they make you think you need the products ar hand
