I didn't go the link, but I've read about it. Wasn't it originally called the agitator? I know it was something like that.

It's odd how so many people find vibrators odd, or a threat. I know my boy was a tad threatened by one, he felt that if he couldn't do the job himself it could demean his position as "the man" but I explained to him the fun you can really have (noting at this point I never owned one but I was curious) now he actually asks me if we can use it for various reasons...
I'd suggest anyone looking to explore to give one a try.

Nothing wrong with making it alittle less obvious if you're shopping at Walmart.

Is it our fault he just may have been oblivious to the obvious?

I loved the plotline in Boston Legal a couple of weeks ago when a husband and wife were in divorce court arguing for custody of a steam-powered antique ... er, stimulator. The story briefly described how physicians prescribed sessions with this "stimulator" for women suffering from "tension".
It was hilarious, especially when they demonstrated it in court!

Yesterday, I went to a Cesar Chavez birthday parade in the Mission District [a historically La Raza neighbourhood in S.F.]. Ran into my labour-studies teacher Bill Shields when the street march began. Also ran into Leigh, my cute Mulatto ex-classmate. She withdrew from Mr. Shields class a couple months ago, but she's about to graduate this semester anyway. I'd go out with her if it wasn't for 1 thing: She's involved with a mainstream, hierarchica, highly sectarian-behaving, mostly middle-class White activist org called the International Socialist Organisation. I had no clue that she was until yesterday. That sucks. Belted out both English & Spanish-language anti-H.R. 4437/immigrant rights chants. Got the crowd amped up. Took a nap afterwards. Today, I have homework, housework & filling out job & financial-aid applications in my immediate future. Boring, huh?

I've been sewing a 1960s suit (jacket & dress) for this play I'm in. It's the foulest dark green material - exactly the same colour as a cow pat. And listening to a Doctor Who CD. And eating raw chocolate. Which may explain why I'm wiiiiiide awake now (it's 22:51 here). Anyway, better get on. Those darts won't sew themselves...

Is that held on the street with a simular name? I only treked through the outskirts of the mission while I lived there. I actually stayed on Pierce and Golden Gate right near the Filmore..I got a kick out of staying out there. (especially the tenderloin..)

In the process of moving my friend and her very Polish family today, Theresa's mom asked that I throw away a mouse that was on a sticky trap. Well we saw the mouse while we were moving all the stuff later, then a little after that, Theresa saw it move. I went over to it and it was still very much alive. We all felt terrible for the thing. It's entire body, face and everything, was stuck to the trap. It was terrified. Among one of our trips to the store, we picked up a high powered bb gun. I took the trap into the backyard, with Kate next to me to oversee it, and Theresa far on the porch, not wanting to watch. I loaded up the bb gun, took two practice shots, then took aim carefully at the mouse's side, and fired. I fired twice more to make sure the poor little guy was dead and no longer suffering. I feel terrible when I have to do stuff like that, but I know it was the most merciful thing I could have done. I apologized to the little guy afterward, then we sacked him and dumped him. I was more relieved after he was dead, because seeing the fear and pain in his eyes when he was alive was too much.

Korova, I don't know whether to laugh or smile that.
I'm not into letting animals suffer.
I worked at a vet that used those sticky traps when they had a mouse problem in the back. The doctors didn't want to use chemicals to get rid of the mice because the dogs that we walked might get into it.
One day we found one of the traps with a mouse on it and one of my co-workers freaked and started crying. She was one of those people that was really kinda 'out there'. She took the trap outside and stepped on it to kill the mouse (so he wouldn't suffer) and succeeded in making a complete mess of her shoe.
Personally, I didn't see what the big deal was. Although there are more humane ways, for us anyway, to kill mice. I was more concerned with the animals that we were treating than a mouse that was possibly rabies infested.
But, I'm glad that you put the little guy out of his misery, Korova. A mouse in a sticky trap isn't a pleasant sight.

SANCTUS: No. It was held on 24th Street. The starting-point was 24th & Potrero Streets. The parade went past Mission Street. The endpoint/rally location was Horace Mann Middle School on 23rd & Bartlett Streets. I live further up the hill from the Mission District, in a another historically working-class neighbourhood called Bernal Heights. I love it here, despite the slow, steady trickle of what I call the undesirable element--Yuppies. I only stayed in the Tenderloin [T.L.] for 5 months. Can't say I liked it.

Thanks! It was a relief, I can tell you.
All I've got left to do now is the buttonholes (yikes! - any tips gratefully received - I hate doing 'em!). I got the dress done today. Actually doesn't look too bad on, despite the cow pat colour. Perhaps I'll post a picture when it's finished and in action!

Today, I had to go to a clinic for some insurance things or I don't know what in Hades. The only thing I know is that they stuck a needle in me. I have a pathological (is that the word?) fear of needles.
I still feel dizzy. I've haven't cried like this since I saw Brokeback Mountain (yup, I'm a crybaby)

Met my dad today for the first time in years. It went okay, he said some things about my mom and my sister I didn't like, but I guess that is to be expected. I had a good time. We went to Swiss Chalet, and god damn if I didn't shovel the food in. My tummy hurts now.

Yeah, it's not the fact that he was going to die that bothered me (same reason as you said, rabies infested and wild), but the trap itself just made me feel bad for the little guy. I can't imagine what it must be like to be entirely stuck like that having to watch as some beast decides your fate. He was pretty scared the whole time.
Stomping on him was definitely something I was NOT going to do. Same with stabbing. All too messy and not really all that merciful. Shooting was the quickest thing.

I didn't much like the tenderloin, I was just amused by it's inhabitance. Not a day went by that I walked through there without seeing something questionable. You ever run by that fella who stands at the corner of Geary and (I think) Star Street just before Van Ness? Last I saw he had a sign stating he was abducted by Aliens and required Food.. then he would proceed to chase the cars screaming obscenities because no one would pay attention. Scared the shit outta me a few times (especially when I walked home round midnight).
---
Worked "today" the overnight shift.. boring boring boring. I did find out that a current manager is re-enlisting in the army so his position may be mine. He finds out today... I'm half excited.

I cried too, love.
Saya, I'm glad that things went well with your father. I've never met mine so I delight in knowing that other people have good relationships with their fathers.
Sanctus, I hope you get the position, if the job is one you like.

I ate meatloaf and then went to Ikea and bought a box to put my art supplies in, then came home and assembled it, and then made myself some coffee and did some knitting. And filled out my FAFSA form for the next school year (weeee grad school).
And then I piddled on the computer while watching Charmed on TNT.

Today my lil' sister found herself a party to a slight fender bender just as she pulled into the driveway (just as I was walking outside coincidentally). We live on a hill and as she pulled in a fella flew up the hill (definitely speeding and on his cell) and nailed her back end. I saw the whole ordeal. Oddly the driver was our families equestrian vet?! So I spoke to the police (as the only witness) but regardless it was her fault, he had the right of way. (not to mention the tabs on her car were expired, ouch.)
So with that, my detective involvement and last years search warrant (I'll explain that later) I've had too many unwanted dealings with the authorities.

BASTARD!! I hate when people drive like idiots. Especially when they cause accidents that end up being your fault because of the angle or whatnot.

I spent the afternoon clicker-training cats at the shelter. This is the fourth week (fifth time) I've done this, and the cats are loving it. Sadly, there are four cats still at the shelter who were in the original group; they are the most responsive and enthusiastic. Shaq (who is now "Shayla" under the Kitty Witness Protection Program- it's amazing how a name change alone can spur adoption) was offering high fives, sitting, and jumping up to her perch with little coaxing. Pharaoh, Ed, and Midnight responded admirably as well.
Brie was interested, and came to the front of her cage. Since she has just been spayed, I left it at that. Also, a dog came through the lobby (where her cage is) whilst I was working with her, and she got extremely pissed and distracted.
Shelly (who came to us with her claws grown into her toepads because her person didn't know how to clip her nails), came to the front of her cage, and jumped up to her perch several times.
For the first time, I encountered cats who had no interest in tuna treats: Dharma, who only wanted petting; Olivia, who is still very shut down and nervous (but loves attention), and poor old Mittens, a 14-year-old cat who is disinclined to eat much of anything; she has a constant purr and snuggles right into your neck. She needs an "angel" adopter, one who's willing to provide loving care for an elder cat.
So, I gave up on training- we just cuddled.
Next week, I'll try again.

Damn!
This was a day that will change my way of looking at lif forever.
Ana and I, after being in love with her for 10 months, didn't last as a couple for even a month.
This next wednesday would have been our first month anniversary; the exact same day as her birthday, but now, we won't celebrate both of them simultaneously.
I don't want to put this on the rant thread, because I'm not all that sad. Maybe I'll just have to wait until the girly stuff in me kicks in.
But I was sort of expecting it.
I don't know hwat will happen to my mind now. I certainly will still believe in love, but do I think there's such thing as a soulmate?
The only thing I know is:
I still love her, I always will, and my heart will always keep a place for when/if she comes back

I'm sorry Jillian... did the reality not quite live up to the fantasy? If that's the case it's a harsh way to fall back to earth and I do hope you're doing alright with it.
