Yeah, I know I'm no Pyre, but I'm not half bad... And I promise I look better with makeup, I just don't usually wear it.

As a statement made toward those talking about labret piercings, I want to add that if you care about the health of your gums, then you won't get any kind of lip piercing. The piercing erodes away the gums after a while and can cause Periodontal Disease.

Yeah, it can lead to crooked teeth, too, depending on the jewelry you use.

Girl speaks truth.
Though a PTFE (plastic) or rubber-backed stud can help minimize the damage, and a vertical labret probably won't cause any erosion since neither end of the bar touches the gums. Also need to beware of teeth being chipped by the little disc inside the mouth... Basically anyone who gets a lip piercing should keep in mind it probably won't be a permanant addition to their collection of artificial puncture wounds.
