Returning back to the question of this topic, I think gay marriage must have been legalized so much earlier.
In Spain we changed the government last year, and the new president and ministers approved the law of gay marriage some time ago, in spite of the complaints of the opposition. I think it's a very good idea, because we all must have the same rights.. Why a gay/lesbian cannot marry with the person he/she loves?? This it's nonsense; in my point of view, our sexual orientation it's cultural, because all of us are bisexual.
Ps. Sorry for grammar/vocabulary mistakes, if there're so many.

Considering your corner of the globe I could see the inherent flaw with Cherokee Nation proliferation, but for those of us from the South East (particularly Georgia on through Oklahoma) it’s pretty goddamn common. If you add in to the equation that they (the Cherokee Nation) were viewed as an advanced culture, having churches and schools being farmers and cattle ranchers, perfecting their own alphabet, their own government, then you can begin to see where the lines begin to run together.
Until Andrew Jackson, that is.
So I don’t have a problem with so many Cherokees. Not enough of the fuckers around, if you ask me. Be Cherokee, and be proud. That’s my motto.
But what that has to do with the founding leader of The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints and where they both currently are…I haven’t a clue. Maybe you could ask Paul Revere and The Raiders? If they don't know you could ask the now (current) First Presidency?
|
It's a joke, babe.Cuz most people in TX that are 1/1000 indian claim the Cherokee nation. And I've even heard of some people from down here claim that they're related to Pocahontas.Ah, but wasn't she from up north? D'oh!

Who says this is a "one at a time" kinda deal?
But yeah, I didn't realize that'd turn up on this thread. I guess I let that one slip.

Re: Thoughts on Gay Marriage.
As an Anarchist, I oppose marriage. It's a form of control. Historically, it placed one party [the husband] in the dominant role & the other party in the submissive role [the wife]. However, in other marriages, the wife takes on the dominant role. This could be seen as "either/or" to most people [as in "either good or bad"--that's open to debate, but either way, having one party dominate another is still a control mechanism]. In addition, marriage warrants state & church intervention. Personally, I feel the state & the church shouldn't interfere with serious love relationships or decide whether to make a serious love relationship between 2 people binding. On the other hand, if 2 homosexual people feel that they want to take their love relationship to the next level by making it legal jumping the broom, fine. And those same homosexual couples have every right to adopt children as straight couples do. They would make better parents, too. So on this issue, I'm on middle-ground.

Traditionally, marriage may have been used to control one or another of the sexes. I can honestly say that mine is a partnership not based on the dominance of one sex, but on co-operation and compromise. To have a good marriage you need to have good communication, period.
I think that sexual preference has no bearing(sp?) on whether someone is a good parent or not. There are good parents out there that are both gay and straight. The vast majority of parents out their happen to be straight, so statistically, the majority of bad/good parents are straight. It's not fair, but it's the way things are. I think that a gay couple is just as capable as a straight couple to be good parents, there just happens to be far fewer of them.

You're worse than me. Honestly, did you even glance at the other posts on 'Gay Marriage?' You should have noticed that not many were slaughtering the English language. Go read the playground rules in 'For the Newbies' before you make an illiterate ass out of yourself!!!
And who the hell are you to tell people that being gay is wrong?!! You're the no typing skills DUMBASS!!!
