If you need to be initiated into it, it's one of the offshoots of Wicca. A religion about 45 years old.
There are no "old ways", just anthropology and schemes.
As far as witchcraft, it is less what you learn from others and more what you figure out for yourself. You think the universe will bend for you the same as it will for anyone else?

Anyways...I -really- think you need to stop blaming your parents for "holding you back" when you are perfectly capable of living life on your own...but simply aren't willing to put forth the effort.
As for everything else, everyone else has already said what I was thinking, so no need to reiterate. [I was also confused about the idea of a LaVeyan Satanist casting a spell, since they are labeled as atheists, and I would find it highly unusual for someone who doesn't believe in anything spiritual to try and cast a spell. O__o;;]
Like I said, I want some personal stories from you about how witchcraft and your beliefs have helped you in your every day life. I'm -really- curious about this. [Actually, this is a question for anyone here who has practiced witchcraft. ]

I wish you'd read my posts, I really do.
I already told you 3 fucking times. I can't move out because I don't have any money.
I don't have any money because no-one will employ me. They won't employ me because the lazy assholes can't be bothered to train their new staff. I can't get a Christmas temp job because, even though I applied, no-one got back to me. Now it's too late to apply.
You try to find a fucking job when you're in the same situation as me.
You try to find a fucking job when there's a credit crunch.
I've more than put forth the effort. It's the lazy fuckers behind the counter that aren't putting forth the effort to train their new staff.
No, instead, they "Require" that you have previous work experience.
I cast a Universal love spell (one that calls the the Universe, asking it to bring someone into my life) and it brought someone into my life. We've been going out for around 10 months, now.
My prosperity spell didn't work for some reason. Right when I need it, too....
I cast a visualisation spell to help get rid of a ballder infection that my dog is sufferring from. Work in progress, but it appears to be working.
Witchcraft is something that you do when you need it the most.

And I've already told YOU how I have had to find jobs WITHOUT the help of my parents' financial support, and how it took my husband 9 months of relentless searching to find a job.
Perhaps YOU are the one who needs to read all of MY posts, ne?

Sometimes, you have to bug these folks until they give you what you want. Like -I- already said several times, looking for a job is hard, brutal work, and requires you to be doggedly relentless in your search.
On that note, are there any temp agencies in your area? They can be -very- helpful in helping you find both a job AND experience if you don't have any.

A ballder infection..? I'm going to assume you mean "bladder infection".
Just to be on the safe side, I'd take him to the vet if I were you. :/ [To note, even if I was praying for my dog to get well, I'd still take him to the vet.]

According to other, more experienced folks on this thread, that's not necessarily true.
Also, if it's only when you need it the most, then why did you cast your love spell?

Job Hunting Tips.
Ms.Crowbar: I just wanted to add this to what I've been saying: There are folks, just like you, who have had to go through the exact same grueling experience of finding a job. It's part of becoming an independent adult, and it's not easy for -anyone-.
That's why I'm being hard on you; you aren't experiencing -anything- different than what -millions- of us have experienced before, and what thousands are experiencing right now, worldwide.
So, with that, here are some tips on job hunting:
-- When you go out looking for a job, dress to impress, even if you are just picking up an application. Try not to look too 'spooky', and be sure to greet whomever you are meeting with...even if it's just the secretary...with a smile and a pleasant demeanor.
-- If you haven't heard back from someone within a week, CALL THEM BACK!! Most of the time, this can make the difference between the boss throwing your application in the trash, and calling you in for an interview.
-- Be sure to express your eagerness for the position AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY!! Even if you don't have experience, this will impress whomever you are meeting with more than simply handing in the application and leaving.
-- Be open to whatever comes your way. Whatever job opportunities you see available...if you can possibly bring yourself to do them, then apply for it!! Even if it's just flipping burgers at McD, that cash can really add up!!
Here in the States, we can apply to work with the State Government, which provides a lot of great benefits. This is one of the first things my Beloved did when he began his search, and...even though it took them a long time...he now has a great job doing what he loves. [I've no idea if you have this kind of thing where you live, but I thought I'd throw it in there just in case. ]
If you absolutely, positively, can NOT find a job within a year by really applying yourself and these tactics, but you absolutely can not STAND to live with your parents ONE SECOND LONGER, I would suggest simply walking out the door and hitching it to Dublin or whatever. [Of course, this isn't preferable, but folks in abusive/neglective homes have had to do just this, and never regret it.]

So you dont get the bit about personal gain then? Or the 3 fold rule?
If your dog had a bladder infection, to have known this you would have had to have taken it to a vet because they can lead to kidney infections if not treated, and the vet would have put it on anti-biotics which will be healing it.
Live by a thing? So really what you are saying is that you have no real clue, you just read about it and it looked cool.

Fucking hell, do you actually believe in witchcraft? It’s all fucking bullshit. For fucks sake, it's the 21st century!
The only reason your futile “spells” appeared to work was merely coincidence. And the “spell” that you did, which you claimed to work, was vague and was for something that normally occurs anyway. The reason why your other two “spells” are not working is because they are simply - TURD.
And I really do hope you have taken your dog to the vets - "witchcraft" is NOT going to cure it. I also hope that you haven’t given it any shit; it was probably your “witchcraft” that gave the dog the infection in the first place. Stop being so deluded.

That is evidence of nothing.
Ever notice that books on Witchcraft always tell you to cast the spell but also do everything else to make your wish come true?
Cast a love spell...BUT ALSO BE CONFIDENT AND ASK THE GUY OUT AND WEAR YOUR HAIR REAL PRETTY.
What you need to do is cast the spell, but then fart on the guy you like and kick him in the balls after shaving your head. If he still falls in love with you, then yeah, maybe the Witchcraft is doing something.

GM & Alarica: Thanks. It annoys me when folks whine about problems that are moderately easy to fix.
Ophie: Awesome reply. XD These books sound more like self-help than magick.

I agree with what's posted here mostly.
Just because YOU think it's too late to apply doesn't mean that it is. Some stores might still be looking.
Just "visualize" you getting a job

Honestly, if you're looking for a job, try looking for insurance outsourcing or something. Sure, the hours are shit, but the money is decent and they usually don't care what you look like, just so long as your smart enough to put the right envelope in the right bin.

"To Know, To Will, To Dare, To Keep Silence."
This is actually a set of laws set forth in one of the hermetics books I've read. The idea is to be truly a magi (Wise man). So in order to be wise in all things, or more precisely metaphysics, you must be knowledgable. The willing part refers to how many rituals in hermetics function. To dare, if you never dare to do something you will never learn what will happen in that specific case and thus are denying yourself of knowledge. To keep silence refers to the fact that at the time it was written you would be killed for practicing magick.
I would add something to the conversation on witchcraft but I have not studied witchcraft at all.
Tam: I practice energy* manipulation which is the core mechanic for all magick. I tend not to practice things that don't get results. Thus, I practice very little energy manipulation that influences things on a physical (As opposed to mental) level.
The one physical thing I have had a noticeable degree of success on is reducing pain in others. I can't be sure if reducing pain in myself is just me increasing my pain tolerance or what. For various healing experiments the subject has been entirely unaware of my healing them to eliminating the placebo effect as a possible source of error.
Most of the rest of what I do is purely on an energetic or mental level. Thus most of it has no direct influence on my life other than satisfying my curiosity and desire to learn.
Another thing I would like to mention is that energy manipulation has no relegious associations and thus can be incorporated into anyones life. There is a fairly large community of atheistic psions (Psion being one who manipulates psi which is a specific type of energy manipulated in a manner with no rituals or preconcieved notions applied to it) as well. Being a christian I tend to apply christianity into my energy working.
*Energy does not refer to physical energy such as potential or kinetic but energy that can best be described as mental. It is often refered to as psi, chi, ki, qi, core and many other things.
Man that was long... I hope that this is actually helpful for someone.

I perfectly understand Wicca, and I don't even make an effort at it; I'm just that good.
My point is that you're learning about Satanism, and you differentiate Wicca from Witchcraft like a good idiotic spookykid, and you even mentioned bullshit Asatru, but you couldn't mention Sikh nor Islam.
I'm calling on your bullshit. You don't care about different religionsl you care about 'spooky religions'.
