Krick and Jin, I'm not saying that you aren't socially competent or that you are somehow misfits in society, and if you are I wouldn't blame homeschooling. I also never said that I had a problem with homeschooling, in some cases it is better than sending kids to school, in other cases it isn't, whether it is a wise decision depends entirely on the individual system. This being said, one can say, quite decidedly, that there is no tangible evidence to support the idea that homeschooling results in more social competency, as Krick initially claimed, and I am wholeheartedly against people making unsupportable claims and people pulling facts out of their asses.

And I just wrote you off as anyone worth speaking to even briefly.
Please take my advice on the logic class. You haven't responded with anything that wasn't a personal attack of some form or another.

Quoted for Truth.
I think that was the most logical statement made so far in this thread.

That's completely understandable, and I agree with you. I only have facts based on my own experiences, and I choose to lean towards them as being the best credibility toward my own opinions, which is what most of us humans tend to do.

First off, Solumina, at this point in time I have nothing against you. You're respectful and intelligent in your arguments, even where we have differences of opinion.
I can see how that might be an unsupported claim in one sense, but in another it's supported by what I know of myself and the people around me. I'm not just drawing wildly at straws here... however, it is true I have no proof. It is only anecdotal evidence, but it seems to be a fairly commonly held opinion... the reason that I was homeschooled is because my parents looked into it after being very impressed with the intelligence and social abilities of a family they knew.

This is exactly the case with my family. ^_^

It is nice when we all manage to be polite and shit, shame it doesn't happen more often.

As I said anecdotal evidence is fine for personal opinion but you cannot simply throw opinions about as fact, especially when that opinion flies in the face of conventional wisdom.

I think we may as well call it a day - none of us [you, me, Jin and DoS] really disagrees hugely with the other except in terms of choice of statements, and I for one can see your view clear enough, and accept it.
Btw, I love, I just love how you say "shit" right after the politeness bit, no really, I do! haha

I suppose you are right, arguing semantics can only go so far.

From Wikipedia: Conventional wisdom (CW) is a term used to describe ideas or explanations that are generally accepted as true by the public or by experts in a field. The term implies that the ideas or explanations, though widely held, are unexamined and, hence, may be reevaluated upon further examination or as events unfold.
That definition is pretty much exactly what I mean, it does allow for inaccuracies but if one is to say that the prevailing notion is incorrect then one should be prepared to have some verifiable support for their position.

It's ok, you sit behind a desk and make what, 5 or 6 figures, all the while hoping to impress me with your security clearance? Given the people I know, I could make 6 figures pretty easily too, especially with the new supply of opium your pals opened up in the middle east... Props on that by the way, I only ruined my life with it, but hey, since we're talking about personal experience, do you know how much easier it became to find great heroin after the invasion of Afghanistan?

I'd pick an ounce of lead as opposed to sense, it would probably cause us a lot less grief in the long run...

Well I'm sorry, but you are indeed a great failure in that field. You can't hammer sense, if you don't have sense yourself.

How is anything that I said defective Jack? And please give me your opinions, not just some rude remark that you think seems cool, but is indeed moronic.
