I was once stopped walking by a Church by a mob of people proclaiming me to be Satan.

At the time, my paying job was to dress up like a big pink rabbit.

They're just mad because goths are much more smarter and don't fall for Christianity.

Hmmm? There are many Christian Goths, I thinkt here's even some on this site.

So, its less falling for Christianity, more seeing that it is not the be all and end all and other people are free to make choices.

Which the people of landover baptist church *lols while reading their forum* don't understand

Just had to pop in and say I was eating breakfast out this morning and lady behind me in line had on a pink t-shirt that said:

"GOT JESUS?
(It's hell without him)"

I giggled to myself. She probably thought I was the SheDevil incarnate. Too bad I didn't have my pentacle on. :P

If I remember correctly, that Baptist forum was also bashing anime at one point for displaying "witchcraft" and characters dressed like "homers" (they like that word, don't they? Mr. Groeing must be proud). They specifically targeted Kurosaki Ichigo from the anime Bleach, for wearing what they assumed to be a long pleated skirt (it's actually hakama, the pants type, but that's besides the point) at one point. When they were shown a photo of a man showing that hakama can be pants, they blasted him as a "homer" for wearing something that looks like a skirt. From all this, they decreed that people who watch anime must be satanists. Gosh, I better set up my altar, then.

It's funny that in the goth-related thread, they post up some passage about not judging on appearance, and yet, that's in large part what they're doing.

They also correct someone sticking up for goths for misspelling "we're" as "were," but leave all the other mistakes made by their Baptists alone. They seem incapable of spelling "liberal."

It's funny, but kind of sad, at the same time....

But that's what makes it funny. Sure, it's satire and parody but I've come across real sites that actually DO have members that write and act like these chaps, which ofcourse in my eyes makes the whole shebang pretty hilarious...

I knew it, I knew it, I knew it damn it! There was something a little too self-righteous in the posts.

I think the forum is hilarious! They take parody up a notch, and make it some thing completely insane. I love it, and playing the Heretic on there is fun!
