Seriously? I want to say more but I'm stunned. Revolting.

Hanging out with a good friend. And of course, Bulk Barn. You wouldn't believe the amount of beans I hauled home.

Beans don't really make me gassy, unless I've been eating junk food for a few days.
And I've had no appetite for the last week and I've been eating nothing but junk, so this is probably going to be bad XD

The Veganomicon. Its bound in the skin of carrots.
Mostly I cook out of cook books but if I look for something online I'll just google it and compare recipes, although vegweb is becoming a favourite and most definitely has a lot of bean recipes. Was there anything in particular you had in mind?
My favourites are refried beans (for tacos or burritos), coconut curried veggies (includes coconut milk, jasmine rice, kidney beans, red bell pepper and tomato, from La Dolce Vegan but I can type it up for you if you want), chickpea cutlets ( clicky), lentil soup, black bean burgers ( clicky), chili (big recipe but basically chili sans meat and has black beans, kidney beans and chickpeas), vegan shepherd's pie (I know its not technically shepherd's pie that way, but I dunno what else to call it, anyway love it with chickpeas), and hummus. Phew!
I'm also going to try and make lentil kibbeh soon, if it goes well I'll let you know.

Oh, and I should add that falafel is god but I never make it myself, there's a pita place down the street that makes awesome falafel pitas so I don't have to go through the mess, and with midnight cravings I have powdered falafel from bulk barn which is fine enough. But I hear its way better home made.

Glad to have made your day. The ditty does not belong to me, but to Bart Simpson. I sing it every time I eat baked beans :-D
Saya - The Veganomicon looks like a great reference book. I've had some unbelievably fabulous vegetarian/vegan food in the past, but I haven't explored that field of cooking (laziness I guess). I'm looking for recipes that are easy and yummy. Stews mainly (because it's winter). Thanks for the links - they look great. (I'm also gluten/lactose intolerant)

1 lb dried beans, boiled for an hour and left to soak for an hour.
Drain the beans and add a gallon of water
Fry up a pound or two of meat, beef or pork work best, with some oregano, parsley, rosemary and salt.
Add some black pepper to the water that contains the beans, throw in the meat with the herbs once it is cooked to yummy golden brownness... add some more oregano, parsley, rosemary and salt to the mix.
In a skillet carmelize a large onion (diced) and 2-3 cloves of garlic (mashed and minced). When done add this to the soupy goodness.
Allow to cook for 2-3 hours... then enjoy... this is one of my favorite stews.
