Well that's what you've gotta expect when you dress like a goth queer.

The family and I are going up to NYC for a few days. We are leaving tomorrow at 8am, and coming back on Saturday (probably in the evening)
So..
I won't be online until Saturday.
I am not a touristy person; hopefully I will be able to spend a lot of time in the hotel, since I AM still sick. I will just go "ohh.. I feel awful!" when Mom wants to go look at the *dies* Christmas decorations.
Mom is bribing me, by the way.. all Gothy stores and $100.. very tempting. It's not like I have a choice either way, but now I get to go to Domseys, Trash and Vaudeville (the Trash half, so I am told), and Funhouse. SHOPPING. GOTH. NOT HOT TOPIC. HOORAY! Normally, I really don't like shopping, but if there is a good chance I can find Bauhaus shirts where I am shopping.. I will be JUST fine. And apparently Domseys is like a Goth Wal*Mart without the child labor and all that shit. Good prices is what I am trying to say.
We get to spend two hours on the train both ways. Who wants to bet I set off the security?
I am bummed though.. it's hard to goth up in freezing temperatures. I WANT TO LOOK AWESOME, DAMN IT!
ANYWHO.
Farewell, loveys. I shall be back soon.
You guys probably won't even notice I'm gone. *sniff*

We could totally hang out lolz.
Good luck finding Bauhaus memorbilia in Saint Marks Place... you'll find something with Siouxsie on it in a sea of The Misfits, if you're lucky.

Have fun, korinna!
Does anyone here know how to enable the use of transparencies as a desktop in Windows Vista? Every time I try to use my Rose as a background, it turns all into a nasty smudgy blur.
This is how it should look (though you lose some definition thanks to this being a low quality jpeg image)-

This is how it actually looks (and it looks like that even without suffering jpeg artefacts)-

That's the thing. I love the way it looks (it's even better on black when you can see the whole thing instead of the slice of it shown in the good screenshot), but unless I'm to load it fullscreen in Apophysis and just take a screenshot of that, I'm not going to be able to do anything with it- problem is, it'll only be at about 50% full quality and won't be properly rendered if I use an Apo screenshot, because those are previews only rather than full renders.

Snapshot has these problems-
-Viewing it in Windows Photo thingy, the 'how it should look', does not allow me to go full screen so I can't use that-too many ugly bars and menus.
-Viewing it in Apopysis' fullscreen means I don't get a fully rendered version, as it only uses render up to 100 quality, not the 200 or 500 I want for the final version.
I have the choice of ugly smudgy thing, intrusive windows menus, or lower-than-desirable resolution.
Feck it, I'll make something else which has too many layers of intricacy to allow for transparency issues. The orange thing I made for N works fine, so I need about six layers.
You want the rose, or would it be funny with your OS?

Weird. The other image you sent works just fine here, but that could be because I saved it as an ordinary PNG.

Ahh, MrA has been kind enough to sort out a workable red-on-white for me. And on his birthday, too. Bless.
Your outfit sounds lovely, honeythorn, hope you have a great time! (big hair is a great accessory to so many outfits)

If you have photoshop or something that does it, paste it onto a white background and flatten the image...
Though since it's been worked out...
I've done some stuff in Apophysis... I like that program.
Big hair is always fun.

My new laptop is the bomb-diggity. Despite the fact that it's a huge Toshiba and nothing "cool" or "hip" like a Mac book, it's so faaaast and I love it. :] My old computer was so junked up on Limewire and iTunes and everything else a teenager could ask for, and this thing's got ultimate RAM so I can do whatever.

I bought my laptop right before the Vista ones came out, which were almost twice as good at 3/4 the price. If I'd waited, I could have bought one of those and formatted it and installed XP or Linux on it, and then I'd have had almost 2GB of RAM free, instead of having only half a GB cuz of Vista's piggishness.
Bloated programs seem to be a fad. Vista, Adobe... other stuff... It feels to me that they try to fill up all available resources by making things more inefficient. We might as well keep things as they are and not make better hardware.
There's nothing special about Macs, other than the white plastic and the price tag. Since they switched to Intel, they're basically PCs in a spiffy case.

...Except that it's not the computer itself you buy a mac for, it's the OS. That the hardware is controlled by Apple is just an added bonus. Ok, they're more expensive but then you have to consider that since the hardware is controlled, the OS that ships with them (and the main reason to get a mac in the first place, stated yet again) is built to that hardware only so you won't have any conflicts regarding graphicscards etc, and the OS will be optimized far more than Windows will be, and even Linux unless you recompile the kernel.
Furthermore, you won't get viruses since it's Unix and only a fool will get the single one that could do any harm, you can run all the Linux apps you want inside the OS without bothering to run a VM. You can run Windows on them, if you need that crap. The design is sleek and pretty, quite spiffy as you say.
I could go on for days. The only bad thing with macs is that they aren't quite up to speed as the other powerbeast laptops out there, but unless one is a gamer that doesn't really matter (and the price.. but that depends). I will never go back to Windows except at workplaces where you're forced to use it, and I would certainly recommend anyone buying a new computer to really consider a mac. So worth it in the long run.

Speaking of computers, I feel so nerdy now. I just bought the id-software pack over at steam, running it under Windows... on my mac.

I think I'm going to have to go to fixmyvista.com and get the optimisation patches. I am assured that they make the thing run faster and persuade it to demand less memory for basic tasks.

Wow, I have no idea how you people can deal with Windows...
Patricia Morrison kinda bugs me. A lot. I wish I could zap her out of all the videos.
