My hair is a natural jet black. Does that mean it will be a pain to get mine blue or purple? (Assuming it has to be bleached before the blue/purple can be applied)

I don't know :/ I shouldn't think it will be as bad as getting dyed hair to turn though since you've done nothing to it. But all the same they might have to do the process a couple of times to get it really pale, almost white in order for blue in particular to take. You'd have to refresh the colours every couple of weeks as they don't last long.

Fuck! That sounds expensive. How about purple, will that be as time/effort consuming as doing a blue? I guess I'll pop into Toni & Guy tomorrow and see what they have to say. I really want something purple in my hair. Not all of it, just enough to satisfy my purple fetish.

Well to be honest most colours such as bright blues, reds, purples and so on are hard to keep in as they aren't permanent ( this is what I was told by the hairdresser I went to ) , so they fade quite quickly and have to be refreshed.

Very true. I have to refresh the pink in my hair every few weeks to keep it from fading too badly. I think unless you're up for spending money every month to redye it, don't even bother.

If you get it done by a hairdresser, you could then refresh it yourself with this stuff
http://www.directions-retail.co.uk/_pages/shopfront.htm
Click on the right hand picture for the dye shades. There's LOADS.
I used to have the ends of my hair bright red, and I used that . It's good stuff, and I refreshed the colour every week and a half to two weeks.

Well, I definitely plan to do it once. Then, if I really want the look that bad, I might consider re-doing it, as required.

They sell pots of the Directions dye at my nearest goth clothing shop, so I'm going to get a pot of bright blue and see if it has any effect over black..

I haven't seen it sold in any near me. Only alternative ones.
You can order it from that website though.

Well, not "back" as in with me, but he's back on Gnet. He posted a re-intro.

My grandson came to visit today! Hooray! We shall chase kitties and doggies and eat French fries and cookies and watch Danny Phantom! And later we will wear gas masks.
