Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL.

The best song ever written...

...according to Drake. "High", by The Cure (yes, I just dated myself). I must have listened to this song a couple hundred times by now, and it still has the power to make me shudder involuntarily from excess of joy.

and when i see you kitten as a cat
yeah as smitten as that
i can't get that small
the way you fur
the how you purr
it makes me want to paw you all

If writing that lyric and accompanying music were the only worthwhile thing Robert Smith and friends did in their whole lives, it should be enough for all of them to die happy.

The best song ever written according to you?

That is an impossible question to answer. What one considers to be the best song ever written pretty much changes every day.

^ Truth.

However, some strong contenders:

The Future, Everybody Knows - Leonard Cohen
Blue - A Perfect Circle
The End, People Are Strange - The Doors
Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones
