Haircut?

Problem: I've got a quite round face, and I want a very short, preferbly masculine haircut.
A freind I asked didn't help much by saying the shortest haircut I could do without making myself look horribly ugly is sholder-length, so I wanted to know if there's anything that, well, can look good.

Your friend is an idiot, there are plenty of short hairstyles that work well with round faces. My advice is to go to a good stylist (cheap haircuts are fine for maintaining a style but shell out the cash for someone who really knows what they are doing if you are getting something totally new) and let them know that you want something short and masculine, then just let them do their thing.

The problam is that I have, no money. At all. I'll probably go to a person who does haircuts for FTM trans-people, for no money (and bring her cookies). I assume I can just bring a picture and ask her to do something similar....
Do you have any particular suggestions?

Googling "virtual hairstyles" is probably your best bet as the sites will allow you to upload a pic and you can virtually try out different styles, I know there are plenty out there I just can't think of any particular one off the top of my head, the drawback is that they tend to have a rather limited amount of styles and wont take into consideration the specifics of your hair type but you should be able to find something that you can take with you and just modify it a bit.

So it tends to be true that many short hairstyles can be unflattering on people who are either round in general or just have round faces. However, that isn't necessarily a fair way to characterize ALL short hairstyles.

Depending on the aesthetic you're going for, doing something sort of like the male version of scene hair could be cute. It's not masculine, per se, but more androgynous (and androgynous is way hot). And having the length in the front can emphasize a jawline or add length, making the face appear thinner or longer.

So I realize this guy looks kind of like a douche, but to clarify I'm referring only to his hair CUT, not style, color, or anything about his face or outfit:
