Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

The Drum Player Thread
this thread is for anyone who likes or plays drums, to shoot their mouths off about anything drum related aka: their favourite drummer, how long they have been playing for, best drum solos ...ect
the credit for this thread has to go to duane cos i nicked his idea from the guitar playing thread,oh and i don't play drums myself but a mate of mine dose and she is AWESOME,so if anyone wants some tips or whatever i'll ask her and post whatever she yells at me over the noise of mettalica.

I play bass, but I can play drums. The only beat I know is simple lockstep D-Beat.

I don't exactly play drums, but I can stand behind them and bang out wild tribal stuff on the tom drums. It seems to work when I'm improvising with friends.

Sounds like what I do. Shame none of my friends like tribal drumming. Or deathrock/post-punk/ausgang-type punk.

I play taiko. I'm pretty sure none of you know what that is, so I'll just leave it at that.

Man, anyone could play drums, it just takes practice, just like learning to play bass, or elec. guitar.

I can play guitar and bass quite easily...drumming has never come to me easily atall.
Like I find clarinet easier than all of them, some people are just better at some things than others.

Large (somewhat) Japanese (I believe) drum played with thick sticks.

It is a shame. You should move here. When I improv stuff with my friends it usually sounds like some sort of unholy bastardization of Ausgang and the Deadfly Ensemble.

Drum machines all the way! I love the sounds they make, plus our band needs a constant, reliable rhythm. And it adds to the goth points.

Yep. I program music, apparently. I love Fruity Loops for its versatile drum synths. Fucking amazing.
