The Mansion Of Soul Drain was established in 2002 by Marco Baas and Johanna (Jeanne) André. They come from a small town in Sweden called Finspong. The music style is a mixture between Goth and Doom metal and is characterized by low-tuned guitars, choirs and duets between male and female vocals, moving bass guitar and dark synth. The lyrics are often about real evil things from our “perfect” society and the lyrics are written with several bottoms, so they can be interpreted differently by every reader.
In the year 2006 on Friday 13´th in February a new line up took place in a cellar in Finspong. The new line up in the band is; Marco Baas (guitar, lead and backing vocals), Jesper Karlsson (bass guitar, backing vocals and acoustic guitar) Johanna (Jeanne) André, lead and backing vocals), Johan Kemi (Synth, lead and backing vocals) and Mikael Karlsson (drums). This line up has been the most productive over the years. Everyone in the band is writing and creating songs and everyone has the right to put his/her feeling into the music.
A new album has been released in May 2007, “Dominion” and with the new line up the sound got heavier and with a touch of new influences. “Dominion” is recorded in the band’s own studio and mastered at Cutting Room, Stockholm. The band is now working on a music video to the lead track Dominion and heading for some gigs this autumn 2007. The Mansion Of Soul Drain are open for more suggestions of playing live at clubs, festivals etc.
