Advice for adding spikes to a motorcycle jacket
As the title says, I recently came into possesion of a nice leather motorcycle jacket, and as I have about 150 1/2" spikes sitting in my room I figured I'd make my jacket a little more pointy that it came :P
Basically I'm just looking for handy hints and tips from people who have done similar projects. Tell me what worked well, and what didn't, things to avoid doing etc. For example I already know not to spike the underside of the arm as that would shred the jacket, but other than that I'm a total newb. Help would be much appreciated!!!

I'm assuming the spikes are screw on. If so, make the holes a LOT smaller than the screw for a tighter fit.

Get a leather punch from some place like Home Depot or Tractor Supply. They look like http://www.outfitterssupply.com/images/WLF155_steel.jpg
if you can't afford that, get a nail and a hammer, and don't go pounding right into the jacket. Take your time, and use light taps.
Like Wormboy said, smaller holes = tighter fit.
Make sure the holes go in straight, or you will have crooked spikes.
Don't overdo the spikes; I put 5 on each shoulder http://a33.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/...4eebd4e690.jpg
Take your time! I can't stress that enough. Also, step back and look every few spikes, to make sure it looks okay. I would also use a ruler to get the measurements nice and even.
Or, if you aren't all OCD like me, slap em on there.

Thanks a lot guys! With regards to overdoing the spikes, I'm kind of going for a more punky look, sort of like this except probably not as many studs/spikes. I'm also pondering wether or not to go with cone studs instead, as I've started wondering how much inadvertant damage I would do to stuffs wearing a jacket covered in sharp spikes XD

I put studs on my vest and jacket by hand, and my fingers were really sore for a while after, but it was worth it. Good luck in your adventure sir, hope it works out.
P.S. That jacket you used as an example has excellent music tastes, Discharge, UK Subs, Conflict was all I could spot.

I did mine with a kitchen knife, a pair of nail clippers, a knitting needle, and some (eventually VERY sore) fingers.
I will NEVER do that again.
But I'm SO hardcore.

Korinna FTW! Well I do love my vest, so I'm working on getting pics of me in it, I know I sound like a broken record, but trust me, it shall be done!

My favourite look is "Ghost Rider" or Kalma's (Ex-bassist of Lordi) jacket.
