New Room:) What to do? What to do?

Hey, I'm moving to a new place and I really don't know what to do with my room. Iw as thinnking about painting the walls read and balck or dark purple, but I preder something more creative. I really need some ideas about how to make it goth to suit my personality. So if anyone has some awesome thoughts, I wouldn't mind. Thanks

If you paint it black, you'll have to use a primer. So your room will be pink for about a week. Just like Daz's.(Daz, my love where are you? *sob*)

Be careful if you're painting it black-on the off chance that you manage to find black emulsion, it often goes grey.

Use LOTS of velvet, and not just black velvet either. Dark purple is always good.

Instead of painting one wall black, you could paint the ceiling black and stick glow-in-the-dark stars on it. I always did want to try that...

In what ways can I use velvet, curtains perhaps?

Try that Gothic Martha Stewart site, too. She's a god.
She's really creative, I love her ideas, especially the candles. WoW!

I have dark grey walls, with pictures stick all over one of them, ad some loverly curtains with little dolphins on them. I kept them because they look sooo hardcore.
Errrm I didnt really answer the question did I? I like the idea of a canopy bed, but thats probably the only useful information I have,(and I use the word "useful" incredibly loosely).

Black walls also make the room really dark, and unless you have special lighting, it won't look to good. I'd go with an actual color - red would be cool.

What kind of budget do you have?
I really don't know, and one can always get good deals in Lebanon.

I'm privvy to a light matte grey. That way all your black furniture and goodies stand out and I think it's a bit more elegant than black walls.

Mmm... that sounds yummy! I think a slightly purply-gray (um, is purply a word?!) would look great too.
